These are both late!

No change on wires (same wires, same size), mainly just colours on the bottom and around Mr. Fangy.

6th Adjustment, Jul 12th, medium blue ligs on the bottom:

Eh, sorry for that last one, but it was the best.

7th Adjustment, Aug 22nd, fire red ligs on bottom...
Oh, and a second section of power chain on top, and got a button on the front of Mr. NARC:

As of that last, 1 day short of 1 year and 1 month 'in'.

First, there's a typo in previous post--7th adjustment was Aug 16th, not 22nd...

8th adjustment (and one day short of 14 months 'in') was Sept 22, and:
- Same wires.
- Er, got molar buildups to prevent the rotated lower left 1st bicuspid from locking the upper one in place.
- No longer have the extra link between the upper 1st and 2nd bicuspids on the shorter powerchain. That wasn't fun getting on.
- Lime ligs on bottom. Much brighter in person. :)

9th Adjustment, November 3rd 2011:

As a semi-preface...

1) About a week after the last adjustment (Sept 30th) I woke up...with a button hanging loosely on the powerchain. So the button on the front of the 1st bicuspid was replaced, and it got put on a bit further 'over' on the tooth. Can kinda see from the pictures. Sorta. Not sure if it was the de-glueing/re-glueing, or just from this tooth moving so very, very much, but soon after....:

2) Started getting intermittent pain after the above, then I was in constant pain for about 2-3 weeks before this adjustment, needing to take ibuprofen every 4 hours on the dot for the last week...and when my ortho poked the *spring* I just about cried...even with having taken 3 ibuprofen barely an hour before (and it takes ~40 min to kick in--I usually do this as a preventive, sort of, but even before it was poked I was in a lot pain). Since things were so sensitive, it changed things a bit this last adjustment. :( The pain, *of course*, more or less stopped 12 hours later. Grr. I just hope it stays that way for another 4.5 weeks, and it's 'happy' that day!

- Same wires. Again.
- Green ligs + 3-long bit of powerchain (left 1st bicuspid to 1st molar) to rotate the 1st bicuspid, finally! Next time the bracket gets repositioned.
- Red (short strength/length) powerchain on top from canine over...still have the bit of grey (medium strength/length--apparently these are weaker or they have more space between the loops, not stronger like thought) from previous adjustment (it was not changed out).

Yes, I got Christmas colours, even though they'll be off before then. I didn't last year, and I figured I should/would at some point... :D

lau -- My 'official' estimate was 24 months, although during the consultation I remember it being 24-30 months. That'd be another 8-14 months. Right now mostly just waiting for that one area to get sorted out...and not really able to do much else in the mean-time as a result. So, no, no talk about how much longer it'll be yet. No talk of when I'll get elastics, either (for the midline, mostly), and five teeth aren't yet on the archwires. Still have a fair bit to go, really.

10th Adjustment (16 months, 3 weeks, and a day 'in'), December 15th 2011:

- No change in wire sizes, although did get a new (0.016 round) wire on the bottom! The old one (which had for 13 months...) was so bendy almost went 'back' to 0.014, due to...
- Bracket repositioned on the rotated lower left 1st bicuspid. Horribly painful getting the old bracket off. Ouch. (Don't look forward to getting the button off the 1st bicuspid now at all!) And it's getting sore--it's just barely hooked to the wire.
- Navy ligs on the bottom, teal powerchain on the top. No longer have either little section of powerchain from 1st bicuspid to 1st molar on left side.
- Got the bumper on the wire so the spring can 'push' a bit more that I was supposed to get last time. :D Maybe Mr. Wayward will soon be Mr. Properly-Placed?

Sorry for lack of updates...things were just moving way. Too. Slow. Especially once those two teeth got closer to where they belonged: Mr. Fangy and Mr. NARC (Needs-A-Root-Canal). I'm sure I've got more pictures from that. Found a couple from 2012, but Mr. NARC had already made it onto the wire. After Dec 2012, it's mostly been a *lot* of little tiny changes, specifically torqing the archwire to tilt some teeth one way or the other, primarily those two teeth that finally made it where they belong!

I don't have any pics right this moment, either, but...

Debrace date: December 9th!

Currently have settling elastics--one elastic on each side, weaving top to bottom through 2nd bicuspid, 1st bicuspid, and canines--and only have a wire from canine to canine, top and bottom. Three weeks night/day, and after appointment in three weeks it'll just be at night.

I don't know what kind of retainers will have...somewhat wonder if should try and get a lower bonded. Not as worried about the uppers. I think the biggest 'space' issues is actually going to be...between Mr. Fangy and Mr. NARC. Seriously. At one point there was over an eigth of an inch between them. That'd finally closed up a bit, although wondering if these elastics might be opening it up a bit. Too soon to tell, I think, but it's not like there's a wire between 'em, and they're probably the two most sensitive...and mobile...of all my teeth. And I think they're proving it now.

Anyway...six weeks, or a little less. And for the next three weeks about all I can do is mumble. Very hard to talk with your mouth elasticised shut. :soremouth:

And I do *not* look forward to parts of debanding. Specifically getting the two brackets off of Mr. NARC.

I'll try to get some pics soon.

Anna5 - Actually, those last pics were from nearly three years ago, although not too, too much has changed since beyond finishing getting those two teeth where they belong, and rotating that lower bicuspid. My midline is also better now, and the bracket was moved on the chipped upper lateral incisor to intrude the tooth a bit for it to be fixed (that tooth is smaller, so was expecting to use bonding to fix it rather than file it down...bonus, it's a little straighter now, too! granted, with the chip that makes it look worse  ).

Anyway, some more pics to follow, although they're from 2012/not super 'new' new. Yet. Gonna work on that.

A couple of notes on the previous/current/etc.:
- Mr. NARC moved back so easily it's kinda scary. He actually started moving back before he started getting pulled on. Makes me worry about the 'memory' of those lowers. The uppers really weren't that bad.
- And, as you can see, it's a lot of fixing those two teeth...mainly getting them upright/untipped from all the pushing/pulling/shoving around.
- Lig colours on previous posts were, in order:
Lilac
Green and Pink
Blue and Red
Silver and Gold
Teal and Rose

And...2013!

June 21, 2013:
Got brave and did a rainbow of sorts! Lilac, Teal, Green, Purple, Red.

Soon after those last ones, the bracket was moved on that chipped lateral incisor, so he no longer has a hook on him, and he's a wee bit straighter.

These are my elastics, and my right side (non-NARC) was closer to meeting than the left, both when started the bands and when took the pictures. Side pic is from today, the 5th. Again, the elastic actually starts on the 2nd bicuspid, although can't see it.
Image
Image
Hopefully that will/has evened out a bit (can see it more below), and why I was determined to try the settling elastics even if they might be too much for that one tooth (and I'll admit, it HURT a LOT for a few days, but he's much better now. A little soreness when I try to untangle the elastic from his makeshift hook, then I can even eat with him if I want!). Ie, the side that was going to hurt more...well, it needs 'em more than the 'good' side!

Pics were from November 2, last adjustment was October 28, 2014:
Lig colors are Lilac and Purple.
