Sorry to hear about the spacers. They are the worst! (tomorrow will probably be more painful than today; try to stay ahead of the aches)

Soft foods, your favorite adult beverages, and some advil will help.
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!

Sorry to hear you're in pain, I'm sure it will ease soon. Soft food, ice cream and plenty of things to take your mind off the pain. If all that fails, there is always wine.

Its been a while since I have posted an update! Today I had propel treatment. Basically they make holes in the jaw to break down bone density to encourage rapid movement. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I am excited to see the progress!!

Today ALSO marks 1 year in braces! So crazy to think!! Only 6 months to go!

If anyone is interested in seeing pics of my propel treatment, I can upload them. WARNING I was bleeding a bit when I took the pictures so they do not look pretty at all!

WOW it has been quite some time since I posted about my journey so I suppose it is time for an update!!

February was my year anniversary in braces! I can no believe how much has changed!! Here is my first picture ever in braces
Image

and here I am now a year later!!!
Image

most recently I went through my major changes;
1. Started PROPEL treatment
2. Removal of all 4 of my erupted wisdom teeth
3. TAD placed on the roof of my mouth to help anchor my teeth while we close all the space

Here is my TAD, you can see on the right side of my mouth were the space needs to be closed. ( I think this is the most unattractive picture I've ever taken of myself  )

I am looking at a de-bracing date sometime in July and they will be either just for my wedding date or for good... we will know closer to time. Either way, I have had all the major stuff done so it is smooth sailing from here!!!

Thanks for following :)

Nice to hear of others being engaged with braces! I'm getting married in April 2016 and got braced 2 weeks ago with ceramics on top and bottom. Looking to close in some gaps I've got going on in various places....apparently I've got a big mouth and not enough teeth to fill it..haha! I'm learning to embrace the braces too...but I certainly will be happy to have them off next year...plan is to have them off a few weeks before my wedding, only a 12 month treatment plan, could be worse!! Can't wait to hear more of your journey!!

I'm another engaged lady with braces - tying the knot in May 2016. Unfortunately I don't think mine will be off in time. :( I'm so glad you're timing yours just right, though! And I'm jealous!!!

I will say that if you have to get elastics, please wear them 100000% faithfully! Nothing will delay your treatment like not wearing them! Keep a bag in your purse, by your bed, at your desk at work, in your car, by the couch, lol ANYWHERE so that you have no excuse not to put them back on.

Good luck with your treatment and congrats on your engagement!

Thanks for the tip parsleysage! I will definitely be in elastics a some point, so I will keep that in mind! Yes I hope everything works out and I'm able to get my braces off in time....but I really am getting used to the look of braces on me, and I'm sure you will too! My fiancé thinks they are so cute...go figure lol. Can't wait to hear more about your journey!

Look at all us braced brides!!

My wedding is in 12 days (April 11) so I will be sporting my braces, as I was in my engagement photos as well. I know it bothers a lot of people, but I'm not that concerned.

Congrats to everyone on your upcoming weddings, whether they are this year or next!
