Thanks everyone for all the encouraging comments! Its a real "pick me up" on my down days in braces. Like today, there are a few spots on the inside of my mouth that are really sore. I refuse to wear wax unless it hurts to talk because I want my mouth to toughen up. This is only I think the second time I've even thought about wax. Not bad so far I'd say.

Well not much longer until my next adjustment...July 21st! I am getting excited. My dentist said I will be getting a powerchain...so no pink ligs for me...definately next time though! I will post more pictures soon...probably after my adjustment. Good luck to you all and thanks again for the kind words. :-*

I had my second adjustment on Wednesday. It went very well. My dentist said everything is looking very good. I didn't get a powerchain like he said last time. Instead I got a new, stronger wire...I think he mentioned 18?? Not sure. Anyway, some of my teeth are a bit tender, but nothing too bad. I'm not going to post any pictures yet because they don't look any different, and you can barely notice the difference in the wire. When I see some change, I will post. In the meantime...good luck everyone on your progress!

Well, I had an adjustment on Thursday. It went very well. Got a new wire and a powerchain. My appointment was at 8:30am, was in and out in no time, got home just after 9am. I went back to bed because I had worked late the night before. I woke up at 12pm and all my gaps were completely closed!! I am still in shock of it all. I must say, they are looking awesome. lol I will post a picture later, just wanted to do a quick update since I haven't been on here in awhile.

Ok, so it took me awhile to finally post some pics but here they are. As you can see, I got a new powerchain, it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think I've made a lot of progress in just 3 months...

Again, for comparison Day 1 in braces:

Hey Manda! That is just incredible! WOW! I wish my teeth would make that much progress that fast. I've had my top braces for almost a year and a half and I haven't really had that much progress!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone! I am very happy with my progress so far. Now I wish I had just bit the bullet and spent the extra $$$ for braces on my bottom teeth too. They look so bad now, compared to my top teeth. Oh well, maybe someday I will. For now this will do. You can't really see my bottoms too much when I smile normally anyway. Again, thank you all for your words of encouragement

Yeah, my midline is off by almost a tooth, but most of the problem lies on the bottom, not so much the top. So we won't be doing much about that because I will not be getting braces on the bottom. It really doesn't bother me much, and the average person wouldn't notice it anyway.

I had another adjustment last week. Things are going well, but not much change. My top front teeth now touch my bottoms again, which I am very happy about, as I hadn't been able to do this in months. They replaced the powerchain with a fresh new one and that's about it. My dentist said things are going very well. I didn't ask many questions because I was tired and just wanted to go home and back to bed.

While they were taking the old powerchain off, I was thinking about what it will feel like when the day finally comes when these braces will be removed. I am a bit nervous acutally. It hurt a lot when they took off the powerchain, and my teeth didn't even feel sore until they started poking around. Ouch...in the meantime I'll just try not to think about it.

Hmm, I thought my bottom teeth were okay, but the Ortho made me get braces on both rows... its cool.

Good luck, perhaps when finances allow you can get the rest of the teeth braced. AND THREE MONTHS???? oooh I cant wait for my teeth to start moving around, I want these gaps closed :D

Today I had another adjustment, and things are going great! I got a new, thicker wire, and the powerchain was replaced with a new one. My teeth are a bit tender now, but I am loving every moment of it because I was told I should have my braces off by Christmas!!! I am so excited! The more my teeth hurt, the more movement I will have...and the sooner these braces come off!

I go back on November 3rd to put a bend in the wire to move my front teeth out a bit, then for another adjustment on November 21st. I'll be getting more news of an exact removal date around then I suspect. Until then I'll try to contain my excitement. This will be the best Christmas present ever!

oh, and I'll post some pictures later when I get a chance.

Today I had another adjustment. Got rid of the powerchain, changed the wire, and he put a bend in the front to bring my two front teeth out a bit to round things off better. And the most exciting part yet, he said I am done, just a few more quick checkups and they should be off, around Christmas, as he said last time I was there. YAY!! I have another adjustment in 2 weeks, so I will have a better idea of when they'll be coming off then, but I am just so excited.

Sorry for not posting pictures last time I posted, but there really wasnt much change to look at. I will post some pics in a few days for an update.
