And now for a proper reply. What a lovely result Rhibee, you must be so delighted and wasn't it worth the extra few months wait? So, how did the de bonding go, were your teeth sore and tell me about your retainer, are you getting used to it yet? I'm sure the bottoms will be off really soon and that's going to be one super terrific smile you are going to have. It feels so strange to be saying congratulations to you as it doesn't seem that long ago since we started, just where does the time go? It's funny to read all the 'newbie' posts and reflect that's where we were when we started and just as we commented on all those several years ahead of us who had finished now it's your turn to get the congratulations on a job well done. Keep posting and update everyone on your last few months of braces.

awww Thanks Neil! I am pretty happy and yes it was worth the extra few months!

The debonding was OKAY... lol. The brackets snapped off pretty easy! the front teeth were sensitive but it was okay. the molar bands on the other hand.. GEEZ! I thought he was going to pull my tooth out!! but they came away eventually and it was okay :)

He scrapped off the glue and sanded off the glue, was funny, this little rotating head thing looked like sandpaper haha, then he polished my teeth :) the polish tasted like strawberries! it was nice hehe.

I had two days without a retainer and it felt SO WEIRD, I couldn't stop looking in the mirror and smiling at myself and couldn't believe that they were my teeth!! haha, I still can't! I have an upper Hawley retainer, just a pinky skin colour. It has metal on it but also a nice bit of plastic that lean against my teeth, its actually not to bad and doesn't hurt. ALTHOUGH when he first went to put it in OMG! OUCH! he then adjusted it, due to my sensitive teeth, and it felt better. I think when I go and get my lowers adjusted in Oct, he will adjust the retainer to make it a bit tighter. My teeth still feel tender and I can't bite on them properly yet, but I will get there :)

I know! i read the newbie posts too and it is really weird that we have come this far when we started off like them hehe, i read the start of my blog and can't believe it!

Now i just need the bottoms off! I think i am getting a permanent retainer to wear on them for a while. The retainer is annoying I must admit, having to take it out to eat and drink (I take it out to drink and eat anything, apart from water, i leave it in then). I had the retainer out for about 4 hours on Saturday night as I went to a party and the Ortho said i could take it out for special occasions. When i went to put it back in it was a bit tighter!! can't believe within those 4 hours it they had moved slightly! but soon became normal again. I can now see how important it is to wear the retainer! specially in the first 6 months of braces removal.

I bet yours will be off soon and can't wait to hear your story and see the final results :) :)

Hi Rhibee, I was just wondering how you were getting on? Any news on the bottom braces coming off? Can't be long now!
