So I learned a lesson tonight. Don't eat Singapore noodles! First time ever making them, didn't think anything of it until I went to brush my teeth. Fluro yellow!!! Not pale ... Council worker Fluro yellow! Now to see if I can get these changed. I don't want to look like this for my bday!
Other than this mishap braces have been going great. Eating is no longer a struggle and no soreness or pain at all :)

Wow, that's impressive! I've made the same mistake (but with curry) and my ortho was really good about it and changed them for me and hopefully they will do the same for you.

That's quite the color change! Like NeilH said, hopefully your ortho can fix you right up. Other than the noodle issue, how are things going so far?

They were basically covered in curry powder Neil, I didn't even think lol. Luckily though my bottom ones have returned to normal colour and top have faded a lot. Seeing as it's a bit of a hassle to get to town to change them I'm just going to leave it.

Things are going great! Haven't had any issues except weird ear pain which could be unrelated ... I did a post about it.

I feel like my top teeth have come forward as I'm finding my top lip resting on the top of my braces. Doesn't bother me, just different.
I've had a few self conscious moments when talking to people, I can see them staring at my mouth - but no one has said anything.
I love them though and can see change already. I take photos every night after brushing and then compare when I hop into bed, it makes me happy :)

You can see that your wire has straigtened out a lot already.
I'm about a week behind you, got my braces on the 1st October. How long is your sentence? I was given 12 months.

Up to 36 months. It's a long process as he is camouflaging my underbite as I didn't want surgery :)
Crazy how fast the top see moving though. Biting into things feels so different!!

I can totally relate to what you said about your teeth holding you back. I also have 2 kids and have been putting off getting braces for years because I didn't want to spend the money on myself. Well I finally decided that I can't afford NOT to get them. I can't live the rest of my life being self-conscious about my teeth and I want to be the best mum I can be for my kids :) I have only had my braces for 2 weeks now but I am already feeling more confident than I was before. I am looking forward to seeing some real progress! Good luck with your braces journey!

Yay good on you missmaree! I can't believe how much has changed already. I smile all the time even though my teeth are still shocking I just feel better inside.
I signed up to sell scentsy, something I would never have done if I didn't have braces. I wouldn't say hi to people let alone try and conversate, throw parties and sell products! I'm starting to go to events soon as well.
I feel like I can finally be me, my partner is blown away that I actually talk to people now.
My teeth held me back for so long, no stoping me now!
This Christmas I'm going to be in all the photos with my kids grinning ear to ear for the first time ever

That's lovely to hear. It's amazing how our confidence grows when we finally take action and even though many of those yet to start probably think that hiding your teeth during orthodontic treatment would be more likely, the exact opposite is true. I find I have smiled so much more, have been happy to be photographed and have found a renewed sense of confidence too.

Thanks Neil.
Huge achievement today! It was my birthday yesterday and my love got me a camera. I too some photos of myself smiling showing my teeth and put one on Facebook! First ever teeth photo on the Internet. Wow such a big deal to me :)

I have my first appointment since getting them on in 2 days. Not sure what colours to chose yet, time has gone really fast.

Here's an updated picture. I can't believe how fast they are moving! So happy

Amazing progress, just look at those straighter wires. Good on you posting some photos on FB, I did the same as I really liked a picture of me smiling, it's a shame I can't post the same picture here, maybe they should create a super locked down part of the forum for regulars!

So great to hear your story, I totally empathize on the confidence front! Loved what you said about wearing lipstick, I've never felt confident enough to wear it, will be amazing to eventually be able to do that! :D Hope it's all going well! x
