emBRACE the Journey!

#1 Post by sarap »

I'm 33 years young and have been holding off on getting braces for a very very long time. I honestly didn't care about getting braces as I've felt comfortable with my crooked teeth. There would be times of being self conscious but that quickly wore off. I've never had problems making friends, having girlfriends and now i'm happily married with an amazing supportive wife. In this very moment I'm truly excited on this journey to have straight teeth which is something that I can't even imagine because I've had crooked teeth more than half of my life.

I'd like to start posting photos of my braces and had them put in January 5, 2016 and then I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out the next day. My orthodontist mentioned that I will have the appliances for 2 years. That's gonna by real fast right? I've been constantly looking online/youtube for braces transformation photos and videos and came across this forum. Well now that I'm here, i hope you all will join me on emBracing the journey. <-- lol so cheesy.

Hi there!!! I got my braces on Jan 5th as well! I'm 38 and have been waiting 20 years to do this. My doc said I should be in them for 12-15 months. I have pretty straight teeth except for one snaggle tooth (top left incisor) and a tooth that is behind it.

Good luck on your journey. I too have been obsessively trying to find pics and videos to see transformations.

Congrats on getting your braces! I know exactly what you mean, yrs ago I just accepted my smile and left it the way it was. It was actually because of the show Botched, my friend asked me if i ever did any type of surgery what would it be? And the only thing I could think of were my teeth. So I looked into it and I was amazed at how affordable it actually is if you do your research. I hope you had a speedy recovery with your extractions, I'm more nervous about my extractions than having the braces put on haha! Thanks for sharing your story. I look forward to reading more.
