Braces at 20!

Hi everyone,

I’ve visited an orthodontist today about getting braces. He’s advised me to have upper and lower ceramics for around 18 months.

I’m absolutely terrified! I know it’d be worth it in the long run, but as a university student I’m worried that I’ll look so goofy and won’t be able to date. And if course the pain.

Words of wisdom would be much appreciated!

I don't think you'll look goofy. Honestly I've had multiple people tell me they're cute, if they even notice them in the first place (I have upper and lower ceramics). I ended up being a lot less self conscious about them than I thought I was going to be.

Do it now. Whether you look goofy or not, trust me, you'll be happy you got it done sooner rather than later.
