Hi privatepilot!

Sorry I took 7 days to reply, I was away on music tour, which I'm about to write about. I'm glad you find my posts funny, I'm one of those people that you take an immediate disliking to, so I try to make up for that ;)

So like I said, I went on music tour, I play clarinet and flute, in the band I went with I was a 1st clari, which is good, because thanks to braces my flute playing really sucks :( . well, it's not that bad, my technical stuff is there, It just doesnt really sound like a flute :)

Most of our clarinet section has braces, when I first got them a girl next to me, BD (sorry, I really dont want to post names here, we'll just call her BD) showed me her bottom lip after playing with braces for a couple of months. I wish she didnt, it looked like a sponge that has been around since your mother was a girl :\ I really dont want my bottom lips to turn into a dingy sponge. They look too sexy :P

The first day:

We just got settled into our rooms, we were going on music to in Canberra and we were staying at the YHA. (Youth Hostel Association)
lunch:
Sausage sizzle (with white bread! not good for braces damnit! >.<)

Dinner:
*uggh, I forget.....*

Second Day:

We played with the Duntroon Military Band for 8 hours. they were cranky complain and really needed a kick up the a*s. But they were good.

Breakfast:
Corn Flakes. (egh. not good)

Lunch:
Sandwiches with wite bread (nouu! , Braces now looking like a hedge)

Dinner:
Stir Fry. The kind with small noodles. Once again, not good for braces!!!

Third day:
We performed at the Canberra City band in front of 2 1/2 thousand people. yay! (I tried not to smile after the sandwiches)
Perfomed again (we did the show twice.)

Breakfast:
Yougurt (I though I scored there. Soft. Pulpy. Then I went to brush my teeth and found that it had strawberry crap in it. >.<)

Lunch:
once a friggin gain, we had white bread sandwiches. I dont think my teeth will ever be the same...

Dinner:
SPAGHETTI! AAGGHHH! I looked like I'd lost a war with a vine. But all people with braces did, so sucked in ^ ^

Fourth day:
We went home (zz)

Overall it was a great tour, and I feel sad for those who dont get the opportunity to play an instrument. It's fantastic. Braces + instrument is not so fantastic but you'll live

THe braces during the tour:
I slept on my right cheek. I know this because I developed a number of small craters on that side. Then one of the hooks scratched my cheek, it became inflamed, and so it got swollen. Then both top and bottom hooks proceeded to eat my cheek. I tried to use wax but it dont stick to molar hooks good !

So yeah, that's going on a music tour with braces for those who want to know. No walk in the park but not too bad. Bai all!

Hey Ice!

I play the flute and piccolo with braces. Everyone said it would take me months to be able to play again once my braces were put on, but it was more like 2 weeks! Although I remember that the first band practice was really bad - no matter how hard I blew into the flute, no sound came out! I just pretended I was playing... You really have turn and adjust the headjoint to find a comfortable place for the flute to rest on your bottom lip. My tone isn't as great as it used to be, but I suppose that over time, it will get better. The only thing is that sometimes my bottom teeth hurt because of the constant pressure on them. I haven't had too much trouble with my lip getting cut up by the braces.

Haha.. as you can tell, I love music and band!

Sounds like a good time except for the braces. What do people eat with those things on? Does everything get caught up in the "hedges"? I will find out in 2 weeks from tomorrow

Well, it was my 16th birthday yesterday, our family is still finishing off the pary food, and I currently have a tea-towel rapped around my head ^ ^ it's warm okay? OKAY! good.

The only minor annoyances with eating party food were:

Taking my rubber bands out every five seconds and putting them back in and then explaining to creeped out people what I was doing.

Cleaning them afterwards... I had 2 mudcakes cause my parents and aunty visited (My auntie, as an evil mind game individually wrapped 16 smarty boxes, so I made everyone sit down as I unwrapped them very, very slowly

>=-D

I've been really slack with my biteplate too, I've started to only wear it at night -_-

My teeth's progress:

YAY! I can smile and only show my top teeth, and if you look at them from a distance they sorta look straight! I've been smiling at everyone all day, I'm sure they've been thinking "What a rocket scientist... someone should lock him up..." My mum has started to get my hopes up of not needing extractions, they honestly look like they have enough room to me. But I'm me :P

eBayness:

I want a Mac. It will be my first Mac. It will be my precious...
I found an Indigo Blue Clamshell spam spam spam spam spam spam.
366Mhz
Firewire
10Gig hard disk
AIRPORT!!
128 MB RAM ( :( )
and I dont remember anything else. some complain keeps trying to outbid me several times. I have a massive reserve, so if anyone is stoopid enough to beat me they will be paying WAY more then the unit is worth. It's currently at $212.57 Australian - no idea what it's worth in american :( here's a link for anyone who is interested:

yeah, I'll stop wasting your time now. I hope I get it, if I dont then someone's getting ripped off , LOL!
If I dont, then there are some <Kath&Kim> Noice <\Kath&Kim> 600 Mhz iMacs going, and I can use the spare money to 'buy' OS X ^ ^

-------------My first adjustment--------

I came home from school on monday and was told that I had an ortho appointmet on tuesday at 4 for my first adjustment - thanks for the notice mum!

It wasnt bad at all, he butchered my teeth pulling off the elastics with those hook things though. I got new tougher wires in, and 'fox' elastics. and silver and teal ligs. my teeth didnt even hurt.
not really much of an adjustment.

Well, half an hour ago I got extractions! (my two upper premolars)

Overall it wasnt that Bad, the Ortho had a hell of a time pulling out my teeth, as happens with my family because our teeth are all very big :D

I am drooling blood as I type, because I cant feel my mouth. The worst part was sticking the needle on the inside of my gums  it hurt more than pulling out the actual teeth!

Today I had my appointment after extractions.

The ortho removed both the archwires from my mouth that I had had for several months, and came back with these almost black heavy duty looking things  he snapped them into place.

Peering over my hair, he then informed me that I was going to get springs to help close the gaps.

When he said that, I imagined these tiny cute little springs that would do good. That thought started to fade when he was twisting and screwing things on my mouth - I thought my brackets were going to snap off!

Finally, after half an hour in the chair, I got up and saw these MASSIVE stretched out springs that went from my canines all the way down to my molars! It was VERY noticable! then I recieved elastics for my laterals down to my molars. The first impression, with the springs and my elastics in, was that my mouth looked like a wiccar basket! Very not cool! :(

My mum then decided to go shopping, and the true torture set in, those springs kill! they hurt worse than the extractions!
After some valium however, I was feeling much better :)

On the plus side, I did get my L's! :P
