Thank you all...

Its been an eventful day already! :D

I'm due out for a meal tonight but I was woken up at 4am for two reasons! One because one of my cats decided to bring me an early birthday present (a rat!) and Two, because I had awful jaw ache right by my ear on my upper Jaw.. It feels like i've been kicked or punched in the face..

Strange!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SJSARRE!

:-)o :-V :jump:

Your cat is very sweet... we think it's pretty disgusting when they bring us presents like that but they just want to spoil us lol!

Sorry to hear about your jaw pain :soremouth: I really hope it gets better so you can enjoy your special day.

Just updating... Took a couple of pictures today and can really notice my right canine has dropped and also the right side view shows the gaps are closing and the teeth moving around...

Image

Image

I can see the most movement on the side view...

I'm hoping the springs might move enough in the next 3.5 weeks to be able to allow my other two teeth to join up to my brace..

Will have to do some chanting!!! :D

Under two weeks to go until my next adjustment...

I was expecting the springs to be painful and to really kick start some movement off but to be honest everything has gone quiet.. There was a day or two at the start where it was painful, but I think thats just because the ortho is quite rough with replacing the elastics etc..

I don't feel that there has been any movement at all, since the last adjustment, which I guess was something that I am a little surprised at, because the Ortho said to me when he put the springs on something along of the lines of "lets get these teeth moving!".. I think he will be a bit disappointed when he sees me next Friday.....

I can eat normally now.. For the first time since having my brace put on! I can chew properly.. No pain. No nothing.. My ortho did say to me that because my teeth were quite twisted and out of place I would experience more pain than someone with minor issues.. That is why I feel now, that the past month with no pain means that no movement has taken place.

My archwire feels loose.. Infact all the wires feel loose. There is no taughtness there at all, which would explain the non movement.

Anway. Its not long to go until my next adjustment! hopefully he will try to get things moving again!!!

Another things i've also notice, which I have NEVER done before. I've woken myself up at night recently grinding my teeth.. I will mention this to the ortho next week.

Hi sjsarre,

I have read through your story, there have been a lot of movement already!
Try to be patient, hopefully after the adjustment things will speed up again!
At least you can eat now :)

All the best for your next adjustment!

Hi antsika

Thanks for your post... I'm learning to be more and more patient!! I guess at the start I thought it would happen quite quickly, but I know I have to be patient and I guess like alot of things including dieting. The more slowly things move in the right direction, the longer you will see the results!!

Hi KK

I must admit that I haven't been so O.T.T. with taking photo's.. At the start it was twice a week, then it went to once a week, then once every two weeks! The last time I took photo's was just after my last appointment!!! BUT, I went out two days ago and had a curry with my son.. BIG mistake.. The last couple of curry's i've had didn't stain the elastics.. Well this was the third time and it was the same curry! But boy it certainly left me with some illuminous ones!!!

As soon as i've had my adjustment next week i'll take some with nice new elastics on...

:D

I was grinding again last night.. In fact I thought I had popped a bracket off because I could feel metal. That is when I woke up..

OK... I've decided to post some pictures.. Just to make me feel better!!! :D

And to show you my nicely curry staining!! IN FACT i've just noticed the flash on my camera has almost removed the staining!!!

The comparisons are from 3 & 4 weeks to today which is virtually 12 weeks

I look like bugs bunny at the moment.... I think its because my canines are being pushed around the side a bit and because they have been pulled down and pushed back....

Plus its over excentuated I guess because you can't see my whole face!!!

My extraction gaps on the bottom are virtually half closed now which is great!!!

Hi everyone.. Just back from my third adjustment... Was quite eventful.

The Ortho said to me that I should now start to see some real movement after this adjustment. He commented that its only been three months and they are moving very nicely!

I guess like everyone says its the experts that know and can see even the slightest of movement..

had spacers put in the springs. A ligature attached to a tooth on the bottom row to stop it rotating and what I think is a clear power chain on the bottom..

Ow Ow Ow Ow Ow

This is pain!

I can honestly say this is the most pain i've had since having my brace put on.. That powerchain is something else! And my top bugs bunny teeth are throbbing!

I've had to take some ibuprofen, but I don't think they have numbed the pain!

Well I guess pain and aching means movement is happening!!!

There has already been movement on the top right. I can get my little brush up past the bracket on the tooth that isn't bracketed yet inbetween my front tooth with ease today whereas yesterday I had to push it through!!

:D
