Hi All

Sorry, no pictures yet still... although i have an adjustment soon so might wait till then (see what they do) and then take some updated pictures!

Had some bad news lately which is why i have not been on to post much! .... The company i work for has gone into 'Administration'! Which means i could be out of a job  Such a bad time... not sure how im gonna afford bills etc and pay for my treatment! But i will have to see what happens and deal with whatever gets thrown at me! Been told that they dont know when/if we are getting paid either! So not in the best of moods.... up s@it creek without a paddle!!

Anyway, thought i better post... in case anyone thought i was being rude lately!

I have checked in on a few of you and glad you are all ok.

Take care girls and guys

xx

Hi all

Quick question and then i will try and get some new photos on later.... 3rd adjustment today and i have things that look like extra metal round cetain parts of my wire (almost like little weights, is what im assuming). Does anyone know what these are for? Have 3 in total.....2 right on the front wire. Lower and bottom.

I would have asked my ortho if he had given me a mirror to look after he had finished pulling me about! But i didnt notice until i got back into my car!!! :?

Ellie, I just had a look in the Orthocare catalogue and they look a bit like this. They are called crimpable stops so I guess they are to keep your wire in place, or stop the teeth next to them from moving over? Just a guess.

and here's the page they are on

Jesus, not been on here for a while! Shall get some photos on as soon as I get my camera back from the mendors!!!!

Well, I'm in the last stages.... yep, not even a year for top brace, only a few weeks off, but the Ortho advised that these babies could be off end of the year!!! :D
Got my next appointment in two weeks and he will close the gaps (been hearing him say this for about the last 4 appointments :x ), so hopefully be on the home straight soon!! No pun intended!

Hope everyone is ok, sorry I have been so slack, but its 'wedding' season for my friends and its been chaos the last few months, Hen partys, Bridesmaid dress fittings etc etc  ... will go and have a nose about at all your stories! xxxx

Hi Ellie! Im still quite new to AW..but i was just reading through your story and boy am i jealous.... your progress is amazing. your teeth really do look great!

I was having a look at how your teeth were before you started the treatment and noticed that there are similar to mine at the moment. I hope my teeth look as great as yours! Im going to be braced on tuesday. One of the things im dreading is that the wire is going to look abit like a rollercoaster to start of with..but i guess then i will really see the difference once the wire starts to straighten out!!

Hi All

Well... think I have just had my last 'major' adjustment! By this I mean the last forgein object to be inserted onto my wire! I now have my hooks (or my little lochness monsters as I'm calling them!) and the bands to bring back these bad boy gaps! :D

Ortho reckons Im still on track for maybe getting my brace off at the end of this year! Which is fab news, as my brother is getting married in Feb and he has asked me to be bridesmaid (Yes, not sure why he wants his 29 year old sister walking down in a dress... but i am very honoured) which means i get to have a huge smile and make my family proud, as they all moan at me about not smiling! So fingers crossed these will be off!

I have attached some photos for you!.....

Thanks guji girl for the post, hope your brace day went well and that your journey is going ok so far! It will all be worth it in the end.... I cant believe how quick my year in braces has gone! Wont be long now till i have naked teeth again, and if there is one thing i know, I dont regret this journey one little bit! :)

Hope everyone is ok, be safe and keep smiling all! :D

Well, not been on here for a while.....bad I know :?

Well, I can not express how happy I am... I have my removal date of the 29th Sept! I am on count down and have even created my own calendar at work where i rip off a day!! Good feeling seeing the days go down!

Not had much to report really to be honest. All adjustments have been fine.. no problems at all! Gaps have FINALLY closed... that has to have been the longest and most annoying part of my whole treatment! :x

Had my TPA removed the other week and I must say it is a huge relief to be able to stick sweets like Opal fruits to the roof of my mouth again!!!

Had to wear some lovely bands of an evening to bring my lower jaw forward, didnt take long for my teeth to meet... I was most impressed! Think it only took about 3 weeks!

I think my teeth are about done, so annoyed that i have to wait a few more weeks till this comes off... but hey ho... all good things and all that!

Well, I hope you are all ok and I post will post lovely pictures of my nashers once this is off.... then I say goodbye!

I must just add that without this site (in my early days when I knew NOTHING) I dont think this would have been as easy as it has been. This is a great site for ironing out all your worries and ensuring that the silly stuff you worry about is normal!

Good Luck all! x
