Denise: Yes, let's do keep good thoughts out there so that we're both brace-free ("naked" ) by the end of 2008... But braces are just the first Chapter in getting a beautiful smile... we also get to look forward to wearing Retainers! I'm not sure, but I get the feeling that I'm gonna have to wear mine 24 hrs a day, since my teeth moved into alignment so quickly, I'm afraid they will move out of alignment just as quickly unless I wear retainers. Who knows. I may surprise myself and just need to wear them at bedtime.
Until next time,
~Victor

First of all, Thank You for your kind words, I'm glad that I am able to inspire others, because I inspire myself in the process...
As far as the Photoshop goes, please don't me misled-- in my most recent set of pictures, the Photoshop was only used to make my teeth look whiter, and nothing else... the movement is all real !!! It's all me!
See you soon!

Thank You, AstronautJenny for your kind words and your good wishes! And may 2008 bring you joy, love, and prosperity.
Technically, tomorrow would be my 11-month anniversary but I'm going to be out all day, so I thought I'd post my 11-month pictures today. Enjoy!

Bottom arch (left central is still not rotated into position yet-- what is the deal? Perhaps it's time to do some IPR to make some room for the rotation) [Dr. F. just likes to refer to this as "smoothing"]
I go in for adjustment #6 this Thursday; Think good thoughts, Wish me luck!
Until next time,
~Victor

Aww thank you Stacexox, you are so kind!!!! My only concern is that I'll have to wear retainers forever since my teeth are moving quickly. But I'm hoping to know, either by this adjustment or by the next, when the braces will be getting removed. I still have the lower left incisor needing to rotate into place, and my mid-line is off... so it may just go the 18 months yet.
Until next time,
~Victor

A big thank you to Ken and kittymeow84 for your nice compliments! Thanks, guys!
Now I just have to decide what colors I'm going to pick for the adjustment... I'm thinking they'll most likely keep me in Power Chains so no mixing & matching like the previous times....
Is there such thing as gum surgery to make my upper laterals the same size (relatively) as the centrals and canines? Because the gums in their current position give the illusion that the laterals are not aligned. Any thoughts/ideas?
Talk to you soon!

Your teeth look great!!! Love the turquoise powerchains. Good luck on your appointment of Thursday. I on the other hand will be starting her "second" sentence.
Started the journey for the second time on January 10th 2008~Ceramic uppers and metal lowers. Removed on June 2nd 2009.
Victor I think you can get your gums "trimmed" to make your teeth look more even. There's been a thread recently on it in the Metal Mouth section of the forum.....hang on I'll find it.
Browneyedgrl: Thank you for your kind comments! But my top power chain is actually a royal blue; with photoshop it came out turquoise. Nice combination huh?
kittymeow84: Thanks for your helpful research! I appreciate it! This looks like something that I really want to consider!
I took the liberty of "visualizing" [via the magic of photoshop] what my new gums would look like; check it out:
... much better huh?

I wouldn't be one iota surprised if you get your braces off sooner than the original 18 month sentence....
(No, I am not new; I keep meaning to start my story, but....ummm....I just keep procrastinating.....

Miss Smiley: Thank you for your kind compliments. We are our own worst critics and I just think that my upper laterals look too "gummy" if that makes sense...and the gum supporting my lower canines looks too receded... I dunno. It's just a thought. Maybe I'll get over it.
Andantæ I really hope you're right; during my adjustment today, Laura (ortho assistant) kept commenting over and over about how nicely my teeth have progressed. Maybe she just wanted to make conversation. Maybe she was genuine. Who knows. In any case she let me take some pictures after she took off the bottom wire and the power chains, check them out!
Notice the interesting way the archwire is bent. I've never seen or heard of this.
Yes the bottom left central incisor has yet to rotate into place. This time I brought it to Laura's attention who, in turn, brought it to Dr. S's attention. Dr. S. looked around, noticed my midline is off, and so, to fix the midline and make room for the central to rotate into place, Dr. S. is now having me wear an additional elastic on the right side:
Dr. S. called this a "Class III" elastic...?
