Your teeth are so beautiful now!!! What a difference from where you started, you must be very happy with your results!
Is your crossbite completely fixed now? It seems so, because your arches are so nice and wide now!
How long do you still need to be in braces?

Awe, Thanks Anna5!Anna5 wrote:Your teeth are so beautiful now!!! What a difference from where you started, you must be very happy with your results!

I have about 1.5 years left.... my cross bite is completely corrected now, and (don't tell my ortho) but I don't even wear the elastics half the time. LOL.

Re: New to the board
How great that your crossbite has corrected completely now!!!
Why do you need to be in braces for another 1,5 year? As far as I can see your teeth look so beautiful already!

My original sentence was 2.5 years (up to 3 years), so I am just guessing my sentence is still 2.5 years. I have not asked.Anna5 wrote:How great that your crossbite has corrected completely now!!!

I might ask when I get to my one year mark (in August), if he thinks I still have 1.5 years left. I guess a lot depends on how quickly this rogue tooth moves ? ?
Re: New to the board
I would definitely ask if I were you.
Anyway, in my opinion your teeth already look very beautiful, and it can only get better!

Re: New to the board
It is not uncommon for adults to be in braces longer even after correction. They want the bone to be set to help with retention of the new smile! Add that onto the Rogue tooth and it adds up.
I am sending positive rotating vibes!

Re: New to the board
Day 315.
I am having the worst tooth pain/sensitivity in my rogue tooth. I finally gave in and went to the dentist yesterday thinking I surely had a major problem and needed a root canal or something... turns out, I have an exposed root. She said that tooth was so boxed in before that the coil spring pushing the two teeth away from it has exposed it and the gums have not had a chance to "catch up" so to say.
Bottom line is nothing can really be done. Hopefully at my next adjustment the tooth will be ready to be re-braced and turned....one can hope!
Until then, swishing is a nightmare. Drinking is a nightmare. Eating is only okay if the food is room temperature, and doesn't get stuck in my braces requiring a "Swish".

9th braces adjustment update:
I had my 9th adjustment yesterday. On the BRIGHT side, I have enough space for my rogue tooth to turn finally, so he put a new bracket it on that tooth (a sliding bracket, not a regular one), and no more coil spring, and also no more filing between the teeth - hallelujah - I don't think I could have handled anymore filing.
They changed my top archwire also to a 19x22 stainless steel wire. This is the first stainless steel wire I have had, I was told it isn't flexible like the previous wires I had had.
Now for the BAD... I feel like I have taken two steps forward, three steps back. Within 4 hours of having the new bottom wire and the rogue tooth re-engaged, the tooth beside that one moved backwards and up. The rogue tooth is unchanged. Seriously, within 4 hours that happened. Now I feel like everything on the bottom is all out of whack and the tooth that was the problem, has now turned into two problem teeth. ~sigh~ Now my top teeth are hitting the one that moved and everything feels off.
If you look at the rogue tooth, the one beside it (front) has moved backwards and up. You can see better probably in the second picture. The bottom picture is from before this adjustment for reference.

Top looks great! I see what you mean about that bottom tooth...you're still in the rotation phase so it'll all come in line with time. How are your teeth feeling today?

Thanks maple...
I think I'm obsessed with looking at my tooth that needs to turn, so much that now I don't even know what it looked like to start with. HA!
I don't think it has turned at all, but the tooth beside it has continued to move backwards.... not good.
I am not sore really, I have one wire poking me but I'm trying to ignore it.

"Have patience, have patience,
Don't be in such a hurry.
When you get impatient,
You only start to worry."
That was a song we sang in a school program when I was in 4th grade... I should probably apply that here!
