Aces :D me too, they're definitely beginning to feel more comfy, have you noticed that when you start chewing again, even a little bit that it makes the braces feel a bit tighter again (not in a bad way necessarily just not as loose) ?

Well because i still have the spacers in, i guess thats what i mostly notice when i chew - so im chewing right in the back, kind of on my gum. I tried eating potato chips the other day, and stabbed my socket/extraction site with one and it started bleeding again :( But all is good now! I think i need to go back to the dentist and get 2 spacers put back in though.

Well I went back to the dentist last week (finally) to get 2 spacers put back in. (By dentist I suppose I mean ortho)
Anyway, he decided to take all the spacers out and try to fit the molar bands on. He managed to get one on, but didnt have the right sizes for the rest (apparently i have very small teeth?!)
So he took of my archwires to do this, which was the weirdest feeling. My teeth felt loose and the brackets felt really prominent.. I was actually happy to get the wires back on!
But over the last few days I have not been a happy camper. I was getting used to the braces and not noticing them, and now all of a sudden it feels like I have a metal factory in my mouth again. They are feeling very bulky, I can hardly get my lips to close together, My tongue keeps rubbing against the little notches on the back of my molar band, and the inside of my lip has the weirdest ulcer/sore i think from rubbing on my bracket. Grrr i wish these things worked quicker than 2 years!
Does anybody know what the hell this thing in my mouth is? It doesnt feel like an ulcer, but it is pretty painful.

My first month has passed!
I think I've had some teeth movement already. The tooth next to my front tooth (on the left) is now next to it, rather than behind, and my front teeth are also next to each other. Feeling positive!!

Hi emmajade22!

I have just read your posts! And I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!
Your pics look great!

If you are still having problems with an ulcer in your mouth, remember that warm salt water is amazing for that... and wax is great for avoiding rubbing your cheeks with the brackets.-

Feeling positive!!

I think that a positive attitude is all you need to get through this ride to the smile you want!

Good Luck!

hmm so its been awhile since ive posted on here.
I STILL dont have all my molar bands on (due to a slack delivery man!).. The spacers have been on since a month before i was braced.. however they have all fallen out by now!

About a week ago i had 'power chains' put on. They were painful for the first day, but not at all after that. Although if i lick my teeth, my tongue gets stuck between the power chain bands... ouch!

And other than that, not a whole lot to report on. I havent noticed any more progres thus far, althought i did manage to floss off a random bit of a glue that looked awful!

Oh and one more thing. no matter how often i brush, the top half of my teeth are looking extremely yellow! so if anyone has any suggestions for fixing this, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers! xx

wow that is a big improvement in one month! your tooth came right forward to align with your middle two. I hope mine does that, I had nearly the same problem as you. I also have a bad canine..but my ortho needs to make room before he pulls that one down!

thanks kibblesnbrit and jenny101101.

One of my top teeth has been biting into one of my bottom teeth at an awkward position.. this seems to have cause the top tooth to actually go backwards, which isnt great considering im supposed to be having an expander put on soon to push everything in the other direction!

Im thinking this has probably happened because i still dont have molar bands on.. so the tooth thats pushed back is the last one with a bracket on it, next to where a tooth has been pulled - so it seems theres nothing to hold it in the place its supposed to be.

I have no idea if that made sense.

On monday I finally got the rest of the molar bands put on.. but i had to get 2 fillings done first! I hate when the dentist blows air onto the tooth with a hole in it.. i "accidentally" bit him when he did this for the second time! damn air..
anyway, molar bands! The stupid little notches on the back of the bands are seriously cutting up my tongue! I have a lovely lisp today, and woke up with blood in my mouth. Very fun :(
And im a little concerned about the direction my teeth are moving! I have one tooth on the bottom that couldnt be connected to the wire straight away, and its just moving further and further back.. it seems there isnt any room for it anymore, and the bracket on this tooth is pushing on the tooth next to it. Somewhat painful!
Other than complaints, my top teeth all seem to be shifting to the left slighty! I think this is a good thing, because i think my teeth were off centre. Anyway lets see if i can get some new pics up. I think ill do a new post for the pics, theres a few i want to put on
