Thanks againbrace! Its almost another full week and I am noticing even more small changes. I couldn't get floss in between the teeth on the sides and now I can with incredible ease. Also there is one space where I get actually slide my tongue in between which I couldn't do before at all. I was jumping up and down over this. LOL I will be posting some pics on the 2 week mark.

On the downside that PIA tooth on the left has now become cold sensitive. Heck even when i drink slightly cold fluids it will hurt. This was a problem back when I got the little monster filled but it eventually went away. I am hoping like mad this will go away again. There is no pain when I chew (which there was when I first had it filled) so I am also hoping this is just due to the fact that it is being used as part of the anchor to pull my other teeth back.

So...last night I had my first real "Braces Drama" episode. I was eating a piece of chocolate (bar and it was soft with nothing in it) and all of a sudden I felt my wire poke me in the cheek. Yep the thing sure did come all the way out of the last bracket. I wasn't dure really what to do as it was poing me so hard and in an area that I knew wax wouldn't really help. AND I knew I wouldnt sleep.

My bf being the positive thinker that he is said "I can try to get it back in for you." After looking at him like he was nuts, thinking "theres no way in HE double hockey sticks your touching me." I decided, trying would be ok. After threatening him with his life if he didnt stop if I said stop, he got his knife multi tool pliers, steralized the crap out of them and a small flashlight. 2 or 3 tries and it was back in!

I still made the phone call obviously because you just never know if it got turned, twisted, put in wrong or what. But...at least it was not stabbing me in the cheek anymore.

So I call them this morning and they are like 'Ok come in at 10:20." I hang up and they call right back and say "You have an appt next week for an adjustment right?" And I did "well we are gonna cancel that and do everything today." "Umm ok." I hang up and thought...Ummmm everything????? What exactly is....everything. LOL

So I go in, they poke around and decide that although there is movement, they dont want to go up a bar size just yet. My teeth on the sides still need to go back a lot more so they can drop my canines in to their new home. So we kept the same bar, put in new ligs and a bigger and badder power chain. Oh yeah..I can feel the burn! LOL

I decided to have some fun and go with my favorite color for ligs. I thought about it and figure, at least with the clear I have the option to hide them (for formal occasions) or have fun...nothing formal happening so.....here they are...23 days in:

I like the color ligatures you chose! Very cute.

What a great boyfriend for putting the wire back in for you! I can just imagine him pretending to be an orthodontist. Haha. Sounds like you have yourself a very supportive and caring boyfriend.

I can't believe you're in powerchains already! I always though those came later.

Great updates, thanks so much for sharing! Your case is a little closer to my situation than anything I've seen here on this site so far. I just joined today, and it's comforting knowing that there are people similar to me. Mine haven't gone on yet, I had my molds done yesterday and my spacers put in, and the tops don't go on until next week.

Thanks ladies!

Yeah my guy has been really supportive from the get go on me getting braces. He knows how self conscious I am about my teeth, and really doesnt like that I dont smile as much as I could. But I am just so embarassed about the way they look. Actually, since I started the process, I do it more.

They had me in powerchains on day 1!!

I will have to check your stories out tonight!!

but thats not to say its been calm over here in braceland! Last month I had quite the gum infection. It was in the jumbled up mess where my canine is on the left side. The gum had swollen to more then halfway down the tooth that is shoved to the back. NOT fun. A trip to the dentist for a deep cleaning on it and a bottle of anti bacterial rinse to take home made things better in about a week. Apparently it didnt matter how often I brushed or waterpicked - things were just way to tight for me to get all the bacteria out.

Then yesterday I went for another adjustment. The said the left side (go figure!) hasn't moved much at all but the right side is looking good. They didn't change my wire just yet but gave me a stronger power chain with no extra links (in other words they went easy on me before). Let me tell ya I can feel it. I cannot chew on the right side at all. Oddly the left side is ok.

The other thing they did was bump me up to now coming in every 3 weeks. They said they want to try to keep things moving...while I am ecstatic that they want to get things moving faster I must admit I enjoyed having a week of "downtime" where nothing hurt and I could chew completely normal. LOL

I'll post pics tonight. I have new colors to show off. And it looks like I have a lot of reading to do to catch up on how everyone else is doing! thats what I get for being away for so long. ;-)
