sorry for the double post

there's my overbite & overjet (about 3 mm for the first and 5 for the second) - is that difficult to fix?

i don't know why, but my ortho told me that my lower braces will be installed in about 5 months since i start the treatment. i don't know why she didn't install them the same time with the upper braces. on my next adjustment (3rd, in about 14 days) i will tell her that i want my lower braces faaaaaast

Hi Haywire - just clicked on your story and had a double-take when I saw your pictures...I thought I was looking at my own teeth! The likeness is uncanny:

Anyway, you've made excellent progress in such a short time so long may it continue :)
It's all gone a bit dental...

Lookin' good! :) I have the same inward incline on my front incisors (retro?) so I think I'll also be the proud (?!) owner of a "new" overjet at some point. Looking forward to seeing your progression!

I also have a deep bite, but was told they'd put bottoms on at the same time as tops... so hello turbos or bite plates.. I think I'll bask in the joy of chewing for the next month while I can! At least you get to give that a miss, if they're waiting for room first. Given how fast your teeth are moving, maybe they will bump up your bottom date?

i don't know, at my first consulation she told me that the treatment will last 2 years, but i hope mine will not last more than 18 months because i want to finish before graduating college.
less than 18 months i don't think it will be, but there is always hope :)

3rd adjustment today. pictures tomorrow

my doc changed the wire for the first time, but o don't see any difference in the tickness of the wire. should it be visible? (the difference between the first and the second?) anyway my teeth are 95% straight now after just 3 months

lower braces on 12th november! :D

tip: go for gray elastics, i had transparent before and they stain. now i have gray ones (like the brakets are) and i like them more

Nov 12 will come up fast! At least you have a date now, yay! Your teeth look so good, hopefully the bottoms will fall in line just as quickly and maybe you'll have a shorter sentence.. fingers crossed anyway :)

Thanks for the tip re elastics, I know staining will be an issue for me so that really helps!

ok so now i have lower braces, the nightmare has started

it was fine so far with just the upper but now... i almost can't eat with those things on my molars, i can't close my mouth, i can't speak properly, and the most annoying thing, i have to wear a rubber band from the inside of my lower second molar to the outside of my upper second molar

if u believe me, i tried 2 and a half hours to put the elastic on after i ate, i finally put it but i don't know how i will manage to put the elastic there about 3-4 times/day (after every meal, and before i go to sleep)

some pics

Welcome to the "holy crap, how am I supposed to eat when not a tooth in my head touches??? #$%^" club... :(

I'm in kind of the same boat, although I have turbos instead of molar buildups.. can you at least chew with the molar buildups? I have nothing to chew with, it's driving me batty! (battier, that is)

Hopefully your teeth move quickly and you can ditch the elastic torture, that does look like a really awful spot to have to put elastics!!

Saw a link to your story in another post and thought I'd pop on over! Very nice progress! With things moving so quickly, you'll probably finish your treatment ahead of schedule!

As for the molar build ups, is that so you don't bite on any brackets? Interesting elastic setup, did your ortho say what it's supposed to do? Hope you're not stuck with the build ups for too long, never had 'em, but they don't sound fun. :?

the build ups are to allow my second molars (upper and lower) to straighten. it's not visible in the pictures i posted but the upper on is inclined outside and the lower on inside. that's the elastic for, to pull them in the right position, and that would not be posible without the build ups

my ortho said that if i wear the elastic all the time i can get rid of it in about 1 month. i hope that then i'll have smaller build ups, because it's very hard to chew with this huge ones. i eat only milk and soft cookies :) my tongue also hurts when i eat because of the hook in the lower molar

Wow your teeth moved super fast!
Braced for 23 months 1 week and 3 days!
I had 4 extractions and all my wisdom teeth removed.
I decided to get removal retainers so it will be easier to floss.
