Thanks so much, Nervous Newbie and Shy Smile! I am *so* *so* *so* glad I finally got braces, and I'm so glad I didn't go get them removed three days after I had them on like I was tempted to! This forum was a big reason I kept on with it even though that first week was surreal hell. It helped so much to get encouragement and reassurance, and also to see other people's results.

Congrats, your teeth look amazing! I really hope my progress will be as fast and the result as gorgeous as yours! I'll have my braces fitted tomorrow and I am starting to feel nervous... But excited! Enjoy your beautiful smile! :D

Look at those curves! I didn't think they were a big deal until I saw so many gorgeous teeth here. Now I want those all my teeth curved in a line for myself!

Ok - Had some IPR done today and have a lovely gap between my front teeth! Just call me Lauren Hutton . . .

I have a powerchain on top (although it's clear, so you can't really see it in the photo), so hopefully it will close up significantly in the next couple of days. I got a big, square wire on the bottom to widen the arch, but the top wire still looks pretty thin.

Happy with my progress still - exciting things happen at each adjustment so that keeps me glad that I'm doing this! The leveling part seems to be taking longer than the straightening part - the teeth on the left side of the photo don't really seem to want to come down.

8 hours later, the gap is pretty much closed! My teeth are absolutely killing me, though . . .

Holy Smokin' Joes! That is amazing and shocking! Who knew they could move that fast! Keep those photos for-EVER.

Ya look great, by the way.
:D

I've got that kind of wavy wire going on in my top teeth too. I'm wondering what will happen for it to straighten out!

Holy mother of all that is toothfairyhappiness.......your teeth look outstanding!!!!! And in such a short time. Clearly you have it in good with the toothfairy herself, cause I have yet to see teeth move that quick...and look that good....so soon. Ummm, do you think maybe you could share her with the rest of us?? (or at least me please) Thank you

Ha ha - I wish I had an in with her, I would definitely share! Thanks for the comments, jensceana and luchababe - I am really happy with my progress. I have to tell you, though, the night of the day my IPR gap closed I was in hell - shooting pain up through my right sinus cavity. Lots of Advil and a day later it was under control, but for a few hours there I was tempted to take some scissors to my powerchain!

So - got rubber bands today to work on my overbite! I'm stoked, because he tells me this means I'm in the home stretch. (Although I don't know how long the home stretch is, so I'm trying not to get too excited.) He told me to wear them 24/7 for best results, so I may go on a Smoothie diet, to make sure things keep moving along! I took some Advil, but am already starting to feel pressure in my sinuses. Really happy with my teeth, though, and their progress!

Had my adjustment today after 3 weeks in rubber bands and things are moving along nicely. He said we'll shoot for a de-banding later this spring! So I'm hoping May at the latest. So happy with the way my teeth are looking. And to think I almost went to have them taken back off that first week! Thanks to this board and the encouragement I got from everyone to stick it out, I didn't, and it has been well worth it.

So there's a chance you can have your braces off after having them on for only 8 months? That's so encouraging!! :jump:

Thanks, peacefrog and luchababe! And yes - it's possible I'll be getting them off at around 8 months! My original estimate was between 1 year - 15 months (15 months was because they're ceramic, but I have had no issues with them breaking or anything, so they didn't slow things down at all). And I've been wearing my rubber bands 24/7 since I got them, so I think that makes things move along quickly, too.
