Thanks Tobilei!

Okay, so the wisdom teeth are out. It's been a drag because I can't really properly clean my teeth towards my molars, so of course I assume I'm getting cavities every single day. I'm sure I'm not, but you know how brains and anxiety can be :P The surgeon did pop one of my brackets off, so I'll be speaking with my ortho tomorrow to see what he wants to do about it. I'm guessing we'll have to wait until the surgical sites are a little more healed up before he starts digging around back there.

I'm on day 3 and the swelling has been pretty bad, but I'm hoping it starts to go away soon because I'm back to work on Tuesday! Eek! Pain has been kept pretty well under control with meds. I am dying for some real food, though :P

Here is a link to my silly before and after video... LOL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiGOaw-isA0

Oh you poor thing :( You're so pretty though you're still adorable even with the swelling! And once you've recovered I'm sure things in your mouth will feel much better!!

I know the feeling of not being able to brush properly and stressing about cavities. I felt the same when I had my baby tooth out and still feel that way on days when the wisdom tooth they are moving (the only one I have) hurts like crazy and I brush it lightly.

Feel better soon :)

Hope you can manage the pain, I never had my wisdom removed, still have all 32,

but I know what my son and daughter went thru. I just want to commend

you for being on the web and informative, your U-tube video's are the best of what

is out there. I am an Engineer and am going thru this process in my 60's, because

I want to keep my teeth.

Good Luck

Wow! Thank you so much! That is very kind :) I know how much other people's videos helped me, so I'm happy if I can do the same! I think it's awesome that you're doing it now- I'm a firm believer that it's never too late.

Speaking of videos, here is my newest one. This one talks about the products that have helped me the most since getting braces. I also talk a little about my last visit and my wisdom teeth :)

Thankfully everything is healing nicely!

I use that floss, the non fuzzy one. I have trouble with it shredding when I pull it through. Never thought to pull it back out the way it went in. I prefer this floss because of the stiff threader end. I used a floss threader for a long time, until they all broke, and I couldn't find them again.

I love my superfloss (mind you we don't get the other kind in Australia and to order it from ebay would be like $12 for 30 :? ) I have had fun a few times when it's wrapped it's tiny little fibres around my very back bracket!

Had an ortho visit this morning and FINALLY got new wires and my springs tightened! The bottom teeth are crazy sore, and I looked in the mirror and was shocked to see that my bottom two front teeth have moved SIGNIFICANTLY since my appointment this morning. Crazy! I guess those springs mean business.

I got thicker wires also, so here's hoping things really start moving!

Wisdom teeth have healed really nicely so I'm happy about that.

Oh, and I went with pretty purple ligs this time :) I like them, but I think I preferred the teal and ill try sky blue next time :) ill post a pic later!

Just wanted to share an updated photo! I had to get a bracket rebonded after it had to come off to be crowned (long story) so while I was there I asked them to take a set of progress pics. I am so excited with the progress from my top arch! The bottom looks worse since they have to spread the teeth apart before they straighten them, but the top looks awesome! I'm so happy!

Ok, so here goes the long story.

I had a filling fail, and ended up needing a crown after I already had my braces on. My ortho debonded that tooth, I got the crown and went back in after the weekend to get the tooth bonded again.

After looking at how much my teeth had moved on the bottom after having my springs tightened 2 weeks earlier, my dr. decided to attach the brackets to the springs with elastics to bring them forward without collapsing the forward movement. It was seriously tight, and they have hurt really bad and apparently this is why:

Image

I couldn't believe how much they moved in 24 hours! That picture is from before the ortho then the same time the next day. Crazy!! Really looking forward to the bottom improving- they made it way worse by spreading things apart with the springs... I expected that, but I'm ready for them to start getting straight, not more crooked ;)

I get the springs off and the wire attached to the unbracketed bottom teeth on May 15th!
