Had another adjustment today. I'm not quite 5 and a half months yet but the ortho says things are moving very quickly. He put a chain all the way across the top and bottom and finally removed the glue build ups on my molars. Now my bite feels weird until everything settles in without the glue. He wants me back in 5 weeks to reposition some brackets. As you can see, my 2 front teeth are angled and he wants to fix that. My top arch has widened tremendously. I'll try to get
A picture of my arch soon.

Your progress looks great! Do you use Acceledent every single day? I'm also 26 and also using Acceledent. I forget to use it some nights but I've still had more movement than I expected I would have at this point. One of my laterals was protruding a lot and now it's back in line with the rest of the teeth after only 7 weeks of braces and one adjustment. The other plus is that after my adjustment, I felt zero pain. I called the orthodontist and asked if something may have gone wrong and the teeth weren't moving based on me not feeling any pain, but they said it's typical for Acceledent patients not to be in pain after adjustments.

Thanks! I use it every night. Very rarely do I miss a night. I paid $1000 for it and I fully intend to get my money's worth out of it. It feels really good to use after an adjustment. Everyone told me that the pain after an adjustment can be pretty bad. I've had 3 adjustments so far and the pain isn't much at all and only lasts a day and half, maybe 2 days.

Next week will officially be 6 months for me. How the time flies! I'm mad that my teeth seem to be staining. I don't get it. They were really white before braces. Now they've got a slightly yellow tint. How is that possible when I'm doing the same routine I always did before braces except now I'm brushing 4 or 5 times a day instead of twice?!

Ugh.

Nice progress!

Those clear power chains stain very easily and could be making your teeth look dingy.

And here's my 6 month front view. I'll admit, I did color correct the stained ligatures in photoshop because I felt it distracted from the teeth themselves.

I can't wait to have the brackets on the front 2 teeth repositioned so they straighten out. Still a LOT of work to do but I'm happy with the progress made in 6 months!!

Thanks, newbite! I'm very happy with the progress so far. I just have to keep wondering if its attributed to the Acceledent or if I'd have made the same progress without it.

You're right, the chains definitely make the rest of the teeth look dingy but I still notice a slight staining on the teeth. I guess I shouldn't be too worried about it. I'll get my teeth whitened when I'm finished....whenever that may be!

I haven't updated in a long time because I've been disappointed with my progress and I'm concerned it's my orthos fault.

Over the past 6 months, I have had 4 brackets repositioned to help straighten certain teeth out but only 1 got straighter. 3 became more crooked.

This month, my ortho put some bends in my wire and said that should straighten out a couple teeth but one that was already the most crooked is getting even more crooked!!!

I've expressed my concerns every visit since June when they started repositioning brackets and the answer was always "we can probably fix that with bends later on."

I'm so frustrated I want to switch orthos but don't even think that's possible.

Also, my bite is still somewhat open and most of my front teeth on the top are level with each other except for one of the middle fronts. It's crooked and higher. I mentioned how one is higher and the assistant said the dr will probably just shave down the rest to level them all out. Why wouldn't they bring down the higher one to help close the gap?! If they shave some off the lower ones, the gap will be even greater!!

Am I overreacting or am I really being screwed out of a proper orthodontic treatment?

Hi Kevin hope it all improves for you soon as you were progressing so quickly. All you can do is raise your concerns with your orthodontist and see what he says and I don't think your overreacting as they are your teeth and you paid money to have them fixed
