Let me just say.... WOW! I just read your entire story and I'm quite impressed with your progress. I only hope that mine will move as quickly as yours have! Your smile looks AMAZING!

I just got my full set of braces put on Jan 16th. My top and bottom (canine to canine) were put on Dec 5th and I'm seeing some progress I think.

I just posted pictures last night of my braces.

Your photoshop visuals are awesome!

Beautiful smile! Best of luck to you!

Kara

Hi there, Kara! and HIMgurl! And thank you both for your very nice compliments! :D  8) :P

I like to attribute a lot of my progress to the tenacious use of my elastics... as you can see in my most recent set of pics, I have 3... they sometimes get annoying but I know it's only temporary! 7 more months to be exact (if everything goes as planned)... and I invite you to come back on or after February 6 because that marks 1 year in braces for me.

I will go check out your stories right now!

Until next time!

1 Year Anniversary Pics

#153 Post by victor36 »

Hi, everybody!

It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted anything on my thread, but today marks 1 Year In Braces!!! Woo-Hoo!!! People in the forums call it a Brace-A-Versary which I think is cute. :) I'm supposed to have these on for about 6 more months but during the last adjustment I had, the ortho assistant really liked my progress and she believes that I will be de-bonded [a.k.a. 'Naked'] before then. So please think good thoughts for me!

I feel kinda silly being so excited about the 1 year mark; there are many more board members who have had so much more to go through than I did, what with extractions, expanders, surgery, etc., my treatment kind of pales in comparison. I have so much admiration and respect for the members who had challenging treatments.

But anyway, here is my favorite part: Picture Time!

And here is my most favorite picture: 1 Year Progress!

That's all for now; Keep sending out positive thoughts for me!!!

ceramic brackets and rectangular arch wires

Wow Victor - your teeth look amazing and how white are they? I almost needed sunglasses! :)

I have just had a brace-a-versary too, like you one year in braces but my progress is nothing compared to yours! Still up to 2 years to go!

Good luck with the rest of your treatment, I can't see what they can do in 6 months to make your teeth look any more perfect though!

I love the powerchains, I have clear ones but as soon as I look at a curry they go bright yellow! Yuk!

Miss Smiley: Thank you for your kind compliments, but don't be fooled by how nice my teeth look; the whiteness is all from photoshop. I hope I do get debanded before August, but my lowers need to move into position before that happens (my midline is off)... Thanks for visiting and come back for updates!!

choccyface: Thank you as well, but see above... it's all smoke and mirrors and photoshop. Well, not all of it, just the whiteness. Congratulations on YOUR 1 year brace-a-versary; here's to speedy treatment for the both of us! :-88

HIMgurl: And last, but certainly not least, Thank You for your nice compliments. Only a little bit more adjustment on the lowers, then filing my teeth to level them off, then (hopefully?) I'll be ready to go!

See you soon!

Hi Victor,

Been told to investigate your post as i have very similar teeth, im halfway through a bunch of extractions with my brace on day on the 11th march, ive ot seen too many on here with teeth in our configeration and am interested to know your thoughts and feelings thus far. Your teeth do look amazing and i can only hope for something similar.

One question, how the hell are they that white, its day glow.

i look forward to hear from you

thanks :)

Thank You, Stacexox and martinboyce!

Stacexox: Thank You for the fun graphic and for your compliments! Only a few more months (hopefully) and I will be brace-free! woo-hoo!

martinboyce: Welcome to my thread, and Thank You for stopping by! Having similar lateral incisor issues, let's take a moment to talk about what you can most likely expect:
  • open coils over each lateral (read the first few pages of my thread to see what I mean.. they look like springs)
  • getting food trapped under coils ALL THE TIME
  • constant use of elastics to spread that upper arch apart to make room for the laterals
Unlike you, however, my ortho opted not to extract any teeth. Guess my arch was wide enough to push all the teeth forward and outward to make room for them all. :)
And as far as my day-glow white teeth, that was all done with photoshop. If my teeth really were that white, I would feel a bit like Ross in the Friends episode "The One With Ross' Teeth" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUIyiOc-_IA :) :) :) :) :)

That's all for now; See you later!

Hi Victor

It looks like there is so little left to do with your teeth, I can't imagine you needing six more months, your teeth look fantastic.

I laughed so much at the clip about Ross' teeth, I've never really watched friends although my daughters were big fans. That was a very funny clip, thanks for that.

I think we should be hearing soon that you've been given a debanding date.

Regards
Joney

Lisa65: Thank You for you nice compliment... but your comment about seeing me naked made me blush hahahahaha  :D :)

Joney: Thank You as well for your kind words. The only thing left is for my lowers to straighten out to the arch and for all of the lowers to shift about 1 to 1.5mm to the right so my midline is centered... and then some filing to level everything off... then yes there will nothing left to do... except replacing a crown on my lower left side, and then some Zoom whitening so my teeth look like my Photoshop creations hahahahahaha

Please keep thinking good thoughts for me!

browneyedgrl: Thank You for your positive thoughts and for your compliments! My next adjust will be March 10th so maybe then they will tell me how much longer i have.

linda21: Thank You as well for your kind words. I am very excited because the end is finally here (hopefully). I bet the first few days of having no braces are going to feel just as weird as the first few days with braces.

Till next time!
