Hi everyone,

Well, I had my adjustment today and all I can say is IM IN PAIN!!! It feels like the first day I got my braces on. Right now I just want to yank all my teeth out my mouth! The reason I am in pain is because I got powerchains on my lower arch today from my canines to my molars to start closing my gap. Holy moley do these things hurt! I had lunch today with some friends and could not eat a thing. I tried a soft taco, but got nowhere with it so I just had water and then went and had me an eggnog frap. The coldness of the frap made my teeth feel so much better. I have another appointment On Jan. 3. I decided to get Christmas colors. Pics are posted below!!

That sucks that you are hurting. Hopefully those chains work fast and close those gaps!!! Love your Christmas colors..

Sorry you are in pain but you can expect a lot of movement from a lot of pain! Eggnog frap sounds amazing I'll have to start looking round coffee shops here to see I can get one too! And I love the Christmas colours and from the front your teeth already look done!

Hi everyone!
Well, my update is I am now pain free and back to eating. The one thing I find different about the power chains is its harder to clean food from around them. It's like they are a trap for food.
@CC-I did beat you to the power chains, but you also beat me to the the elastics. :D

@Starfish-I decided at the last minute on the Christmas colors. It was funny because everyone in the office were like you are back to your multiple colors.

@CC-I have not noticed my gaps closing yet. :-= Maybe my teeth are being stubborn at the moment. The only big changes I have noticed are my top and bottom front teeth touching and every time I eat I fear I am going to chip or break my tooth. If it does not get better I will be mentioning this at my next appointment. I wonder what can be done about that. We are almost twins except I am just missing having elastics. I have no idea when I will be getting those.

@Angel-I am so glad that pain is gone. I have my next adjustment Jan 3rd and hopefully I won't feel that pain again when he is changing out the power chains. I hope your appointment goes well on Thursday.

Thanks for sharing your story things are really looking good for you :D

I kinda have a love hate relationship with the pain. I like to know things are moving or trying to and us has been good for my eating habits. Hardly eat anymore like an insta diet :P

Two peas in a pod at the moment Kimmie!! It is so funny how we seem to be getting similar things happen at the same time!

I never know what I'm getting next at my appointments, he just shoves it all in my mouth and sends me on my way to work it all out!! Perhaps you will get elastics at your next appointment to move your bite so that your front teeth don't hit so much?? I know that my overbite was fixed in about a week when I wore my first lot of elastics, so it doesn't take very long to see improvements.

My teeth are being stubborn too I think - I thought I was getting lots of gap closure but now that I look at the lack of excess wire hanging out the back, I think it was all in my mind :) Still plenty of time in our sentences to get everything moving! :D

CC!!
I am like you also with NO EXCESS wire either. I was also thinking elastics at my next appointment also to keep these teeth from hitting. Only the future will tell!!

Here is a mini update everyone. By the way good morning to all. So, as you all may know for the past week or so I have been noticing my teeth are meeting edge to edge in the front. Well, instead of waiting until my appointment on Jan 3, I decided to call the ortho office this morning when I got off work to see if the could see me and they were like come on in. So I leave work and go, the ortho takes a look and told me what what going on was normal. I was so relieved because it has been on my mind for the past week that I was going to chip a tooth. He assured me that wouldn't happen. So, I get up out the chair to leave and he tells me that he will have my late Christmas gift for me on my next appointment and asked if I would like to know what it was and I was like a little kid and said YES!!!! Sooooooooooo guess what I get as a gift from the ortho my next appointment..........................HEADGEAR!! I think my eyes almost popped out the sockets when he said that. Lol. I was thinking to myself oh my. He was like the good thing is you only have to wear it when you are asleep. So, I guess I know what one Christmas gift is.

So sorry that headgear is in your treatment plan-I didn't think it was really used nowadays, especially on adults. Thought they used TAD's or a Herbst?

I thought so to. Well he has been in business over 30 years so I'm guessing he is going with his old school ways. He made sure to stress that I only have to wear it while I'm sleeping.
