Thanks guys

Not ideal that canine not moving but my diastema has long gone-the whole purpose of the exercise!

Anxious but look forward to seeing my new smile. Truth is I just don't know how to smile as I have never been comfortable with my teeth.

I can't believe but a week today it will all be over. I understand the retention for life but to me that is just a small price to pay for this.

Me and hubby have kept next weeks event to ourselves so I will just put on some nice make up and bold lippy and smile away when I see them all once next Monday is out of the way :-D

As I have mentioned many times on this board about a wedding beginning of April where I was going to have lots of open smiles.

Last night we found out the wedding had been called off-after all the organising and even being with the groom to be for about 5 years or more she decided she wasn't ready to settle down yet. I was surprised, especially as she is about 22-I married my husband nearly 6 years ago at the age of 19.

I am still having them removed anyway next week, as it seems movement has come to the end of the line anyway. I just won't have an occasion to dress up and smile in photos for now though :-(

Have had a cringe moment with discoloured powerchain.

I am following a slimming club plan and there is a type of packet mix noodle pack (Spicy Sweet and Sour) I can get with a 0 value so I had one for lunch. Had one the other day no issues. Had one today and my powerchain has a very distinct yellow tinge :-( I sent a text message to my husband and said with 5 days to go who cares!

I took my son to a toddler group we go to and was talking to one of the other mum's I get on well with. I told her, as she is also following the same slimming group plan, that I had enjoyed one of these noodle packs and later regretted it and showed her that my elastic had stained-she couldn't believe how yellow it had gone, as well as the fact she didn't even know I had an upper brace!

NOT HAPPENED! :-=

Have been minsinformed and I needed an impression for the bonded retainer, that I was not informed about which will need to be made and then fitted the day of debond.

Debonding is now-14th March at 11.15 (GMT)

Words cannot explain how upset I was over this misinformation, that was not even highlighted to me on my treatment plan

Thanks Jem.

Now anxiously awaiting (starting again the countdown) the final result!

I didn't sleep well for nerves/anxiety, kinda like a child before Christmas last night but not quite such a pleasant thought.

On the upshot it is my sister's birthday on my debonding day, never know we may have a curry that night or that weekend!

I thought I was the only one who didn't get debanded at debanding day (twice for me, so far)!!

Really Angel, so sorry for your disappointment. I don't understand why they took an impression for a bonded retainer, unless it is something like a custom fit. My ortho bends their own. I know this...I got one partially bent last June on my 2nd deband date (prior to getting upper braces)!!

I thought they were formed there and then too.

On the upshot though by being custom formed to my impression it should be better and less likely to debond by being done this way I am hoping.

I think I am getting another impression done next week for the Essix as well.

Counting down again but at least it's definite.

All I can say is that these last 8 months have made such a difference to me and I can't wait to see the finished project-a smile which is well over due and the reward for getting over my dental phobia and going down this road too and at least I didn't go for Clearstep as I would have only been halfway through my "treatment time" and would be in a very difficult position/in limbo with regards to my treatment now too.
