Jimmie, no headgear! I hope this is the case. But what about the Christmas gift?

Your teeth are looking awesome.

Hey Kip,
The Christmas gift was suppose to be the headgear until my teeth started to take another direction!!! I hope I bypass it also. That would be great!!

Kimmie!!!! Do you think that our teeth are moving faster than expected because we are being really good at sticking to all of our instructions?? It would be crazy but absolutely fantastic if you can get away without wearing headgear OR ELASTICS!!! But I can see that your bite is looking REALLY good (so that is probably why!) I'm so glad that we both had good news at our appointments!

The lilac chains are subtle but very pretty :) And yes I know what you mean about chains on every tooth!! Youch!!! :soremouth:

So glad that you're feeling better! Sorry that you were so sick!!!!! :(

Take care and catch up soon!

CC!!!
I really do think that we may be out of our braces soon due to us being really good!! I stay away from all the no no foods and go to every appointment as scheduled. I am thinking now of a color for next week!! Hopefully I can stay away from headgear and elastics. So far so good!! Chains on every tooth is such a pain especially when cleaning. The waterpik has really come in handy with having chains!! I hope everything is going well with you!!!

Kimmie!!! Your teeth are looking great. Sorry I haven't been around. This semester is killing me. :)
I hope you can avoid elastics and headgear as well

Hello My Brace Family,

Well, I an adjustment today and everything is doing well. I just got my chains changed out and I chose HOT PINK!!! My next appointment is on the 23rd of this month and let's just say the ortho and one of the assistant plus the secretary told me that what I am getting done the next time I will be in some major soreness and pain. :-+ :-= So, I am NOT looking forward to this appointment. I forgot the name of the procedure he will be doing, but I will try to explain it. They will be adding hooks on and on my bottom teeth they will be looping the archwires to start moving my lower arch backwards because my top and bottom arches are touching now and to close the gaps on the bottom. I was told the procedure will take 30-45 mins. If anyone knows what I am talking about please let me know. I asked twice the name of what he was doing but forgot it!! Well here are some pics.

Looking great! I really wanted pink powerchains too but my ortho only uses clears - rubbish! Yours look so cute. Sorry I have no idea about what your ortho is doing with the hooks and moving your lower arch back but it sounds sore! Don't forget to stock up on painkillers and fish! :D

Hey Star,
I love the pink powerchains!! My favorite colors so far are the teal powerchains and coral. I wish your ortho had colors so you could play around. I usually go for color, but I'm tempted to try the smoke/silver!! I also stocked up on fish today!!

Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise because up to that point nothing had registered even a 2 on the pain scale. For me, it was a piece of linked metal (I think) that they connected to my braces on one side and then wrapped around the front and fastened it on the other side. It only took a minute or two but it was definitely "uncomfortable." Since then, it hasn't bothered me at all.

But I'm not sure this is what you are having done!

Thanks so much for the input. I know they told me it will be a 30 min procedure. The assistant saw I didn't have any hooks on my brackets and mentioned they may have to add some because they will be be making loops and tying wires. It sounds scary!!

I'm not sure about the procedure you are talking about, but most of my hooks have been added as I need them. Some are posts that have fitted into the brackets. Some are wires with loops that they wrap around my brackets. I've been in braces 19 months and I'm up to 20 hooks. I've had a bit of irritation occasionally, but for the most part, they haven't been to bad. Of course, they have always come with a new configuration of elastics that takes getting used to.

Good luck.

Thanks so much for the input. I wish I could remember the name of the procedure they are doing. I will make sure to write it down once I go back so everyone will know. I have the gut feeling they may start elastics this same day as the assistant was talking about hooks. All I know is Im going to eat a good breakfast and take my pain killers before I go. I have already stocked up on fish and soup!!

Poor Kimmie!!! Not fish again!!! I'll be eating it too next week (I think) because my appointment is going to include placing new brackets on my last molars to bring them in line and close the new gaps :/

I don't know what procedure they're doing to you but it doesn't sound fun! I hope it all goes well for you though!!

LOVING the pink :) :) And that beautiful smile is getting more beautiful!!

Take care Kimmie!!!
