Hi Ebony

Great news that you are continuing your treatment-You will feel so proud that you carried on. I feel so proud that I did it, even with the fear and worry about getting my braces but they are still on and I have my first adjustment next week.

Good luck with the rest of your journey and can't wait to see more pictures :-)

Hey Eb!

Do you realize that you are almost at 1/2 year!! Time is flying! :D YIPPEEEE!!!

As for my nose--I did go to the doctor. He said I had a concussion. I can't believe that I didn't end up with a broken nose, or missing teeth! The doctor said it's because I landed on dirt. I always knew I was a little hard headed!

Hey, I will e-mail soon--just been really tired, bored and unmotivated...

No soreness today!

Wow, one more week and I have been in braces for 6 months… Where did the time go? I remember those two first weeks felt like a year, and now these 6 months has gone so fast  .

We have vacation from work but I knew my boss was going to do some paperwork at the clinic a few days this week. It feels like these teeth have moved a lot with this wire and the inside of my cheek were not happy with this. Could not find any vex so I called my boss yesterday and asked if he was at work so I could take a trip to the clinic and steal some vex. Since he had just left he would not be back before Thursday, which was was all fine with me I would survive. I could of course go to the clinic alone but I’m a bit unsure about the alarm so I would rather come when someone is there  .

Apparently my boss did not like this (you can’t buy vex, you have to get them from a ortho) so he drove all the way to the clinic today to get some vex and drove to my home to give them to me. When he called I tried to explain that it was not that bad, I could wait  .
He gave me so much vex that I have enough for the rest of my time in braces… It was very kind of him, it would have taken me ages with bus to the clinic :D .

I guess people don’t want me to be uncomfortable with these braces  I will survive some uncomfortable moments  .

Klobird: Good to hear! And don’t stress about the e-mail, I have forgotten it. I know the feeling, have a few e-mails that I need to respond to myself  .

Angel: Good luck with the first adjustment! How are things going? :D

Ebony - your ortho rocks!! I love mine, but yours is seriously amazing!! Way to go!

I just got my 16 wire swapped out yesterday to a 18, and am holding strong too. Not too much pain so far, and nice to see movement already.

Stay the course - you will be glad that you did and your teeth will be FABULOUS!! :D

I'm so pleased you are able to continue with braces, every day longer in braces is a day further towards perfect teeth. I know what you mean about the fear of pain though. Your ortho sounds amazing and so patient not to mention clever with all those tricks up his sleeve to make it so painless.

Good luck

Hey Eb--Did you use the wax I sent you? It's the really soft, silicone wax--good stuff!

Hi Ebony

Things are coming along well. It's been 20 days now and I have my first adjustment next Friday. I have to go back this Saturday though to get a back bracket rebonded as it came off but dentist was on holiday when it came off when I was eating (soft piece of prawn toast!) I have noticed that there are very small gaps occuring at the sides of my incisors so it looks like slowly but surely the gap is starting to close!

I now have my own braces story on here but after my adjustment next week I will update and upload a new picture.

I did not see it before now, that the autocorrect on my computer wanted wax to be wex. I wonder if this is the case through my whole journal!

Klobird: A kid in our street desperately needed some wax a few weeks ago so I gave her your wax, thinking that I would get some from work when the weekend had ended but I forgot. I saved some for myself of your wax and it was the best wax so far, I just did not save enough

CleoAZ: Thanks!
Yes, he rocks. I was very lucky that I got him, don’t know of any other orthos that are willing to work this hard for a pt. What was the chance?
How is the .018 arch wire? My teeth are back to normal, it’s like the adjustment never happened.

Starfish88: thank you for your kind words! Good luck with your treatment too!

I can get my treatment for free at our clinic and my boss is super kind but I think I will stick with this super ortho. My boss totally understands this and is more than willing to help if that is needed (like bringing me wax 8) Just kidding )
I feel it will be a bit rude to just “hey, I get this for free at our clinic so goodbye, I don’t need you anymore” after everything he has done. We don’t sign any contract between pt and ortho in our country so you’re fee to switch whenever you want without having to pay for the whole treatment or stuff like that, so in theory it would not be any problem but I won’t do it.

Right now getting this for free is not important, but to be able to finish the treatment. This ortho is anyway slooooooooow with his bills, the last bill he gave me was in January  . I need to ask for another bill soon or I’ll never finish paying for these braces. I’m sure he has forgotten it or was afraid he would scare me away with bills in all this anxiety too

Two more days I have had my braces for 6 months. 6 months! Where did the time go? It feels like I have just had these two months or something. Another fast 6 months and I have been in them for a year  .

When I was quoted my time it sounded like forever but if time continues in this speed it all will be over before I know it.

It will not surprise me if I will miss my ortho when they are off. After some ups and downs it looks like he have found a way he thinks is best to handle my craziness  We have a great timework now and it’s all up to me, how much and what I can handle  .

Had some anxiety a few days ago but I manage to not let it drown me like last time and I woke up the next day without anxiety. It has been calm since  .

6 months!?

Well done for reaching the 6 month mark! I can't wait until I can say the same thing, I'm just excited to get to 1 month! I know what you mean about the anxiety. I have up and down days but hate having the constant reminder on my teeth.
