11/07/06~ Another adjustment down. No clue how many to go! So, I usually take some Aleve before every adjustment, but I completely forgot yesterday. Man, I thought my ortho was going to push one of my teeth clear through the back of my head! OUCH! Note to self: never forget the Aleve again! My ortho did the entire adjustment yesterday...removed the old ligs and wires and put on new ligs and wires. He changed my lowers to a stronger wire...one of the square fence post kind. I am definitely feeling pressure today. Other than that, things seem to be moving well. I went with turquoise and pink ligs...I wanted something brighter after the drab orange/black for Halloween. Enjoy the new pics!

Nice progress. Your lower arch has come along quite well but it seems that your upper arch has slowed down some. It will all come together though.

Thanks for all the comments! I does seem like my uppers have slowed down a lot. I did have some slight pain up there after this last adjustment so maybe things are moving again.

sjsarre~I checked out your website and your progress has been great too! It is fun to compare with someone who's been in braces for about the same time!

12/05/06~ Went for another adjustment today. Out of the few hygienists they have I got the rough chick today! Luckily I remembered to take my Aleve before my appt. this time! When she went to snap my upper wire into place she snapped a chunk of my lip in there with it! I said "Ow" and it took her a while to realize what she did and she finally pulled the wire off to release my lip! Oui! Some people! Anyway...I have the same wires with single ligs again this time, but he said next time I will probably get chains to get those gaps to close up! Yippeee!! I can't wait! I love progress and I'll take the slight pain that comes with it!

The pics today aren't too impressive....things have really slowed down....but here are the before and now pics anyway....oh and of course red/green ligs for the holidays!

Ouch! That encounter with the asst certainly sounds painful! Your teeth have made some really nice progress though in just 7 months. Congrats!

01/02/07~ I had one of the good hygienists today! She was very nice and gentle! She put powerchains on so I should see some movement by next month! And since I have chains, I can't alternate colors :(,but they did have a nice purple that I never noticed before! Woohoo! I love purple! :D

Here are this month's pics....Hope everyone has a great New Year!

01/30/07~ Went in for my regular adjustment and also had an exam and cleaning today. I never knew that they could take xrays with brackets on! I learn something new everyday! Since this is a small office I had rough chick again...she usually is the "cleaning lady". I was pleasantly surprised by how great she was today. No pain and very willing to small talk and answer my questions. She did a nice job on the cleaning too! I was getting some slight staining on my lower fronts and all that is cleaned up now! Let's see how long I can stay away from the coffee and tea now! Ha, Ha! When the weather is cold like this I really crave coffee! Anyway...I only have a 3 loop chain going from my upper right canine to the back. Otherwise I have all singles again. I'm bummed 'cuz you see more progress with chains, but I'm excited that I got to alternate colors again!! Woohoo! I chose red/pink for Valentine's Day.

I was telling my ortho how amazed I am by all this progress and he said I probably don't even remember what my teeth looked like before, I said that was a good thing that I didn't remember!

Wow, looking good! You've made really great progress; your upper arch is really wide and looks great.

Glad to hear your cleaning went well and was pain-free! I've had the occasional rough hygenist too... it's no fun!

02/27/07~ We have had a ton of snow here so it took me a long time to drive in for my appt. this morning! I am usually one of those people that shows up 10-15 mins. before my scheduled time, but today I walked in the office right on time. Whew! And we have more snow on it's way! Anyway...they put thicker wires on today. Man, I thought the other wires I had were as thick as fence posts, but these are a lot thicker!! I'm already feeling some pressure too! Nothing else exciting to report...I went with two shades of green for St. Patty's Day! Any suggestions for April colors? Probably something light and springy for Easter.

On to the pics...

Lookin' good! I love the alternating green ligs, I think it's very fitting for St. Patty's Day :-88

Easter colors... light green and purple? Purple and pink?

Hope you get used to the wire soon and your teeth don't get too sore; nothing is worse than those first few days of pain!
