Thanks everyone for their comments!
Well then I think for my next appointment I'll be getting spacers then 10 days later or something I'll go back for my expander .. I'm not sure but I know that I definetely don't have any gaps on either side of my molars so I guess that I'll be getting my spacers on my next appointment ..
I hope the spacers aren't gonna be that bad .. cause my teeth are pretty tight and it may be a bit hard to fit them in .. oh well

Oh by the way, since I live in Hong Kong .. Do you think there will be any places where I will be able to get my ortho supplies like .. proxy brush and wax and all that? Other than at the ortho's office?

Oh by the way for people who want to know why I needed an expander .. it's cause I have a 'posterior cross-bite' and since my age is ideal for orthodontic treatment as my palate or something hasn't fused yet and will fuse soon. I'm 15! I have a posterior cross-bite on right side though .. my ortho said that the left side was fine .. strange!

I better go take some photos then! Cause it would be great to see how much my teeth would have moved ..
I think I'm going to have two different sets of pictures:
One for my expander, one for my braces

Oh and I was wondering whether there were any braces stories where people showed the movement from the expander?
It would be cool to see

I'm now on my second expander, and have not noticed anything odd going on with my nose - it hasn't changed, so I wouldn't worry too much about that! Good luck with it all!

okay .. so ..
i got my expander .. and it's really different from everyone else's cause mine doesn't use molar bands .. thats why i probably didn't even get spacers!
so basically what happened was that they put cement in it and they just stuck it on .. and it covers my whole tooth like a cap so thats why i can't even bite down now ..
tomorrow i'm going back tomorrow to get it turned and so we can learn how to turn it because today my mom was busy and couldn't come to learn how to turn the screw.
it doesn't really hurt a lot but i'm having a hard time trying to talk and i'm lisping and there's a lot of saliva lol

(sorry it's a bit fuzzy .. i was using my webcam cause my brother took the camera

the only difference is that the ones on the site is acrylic whilst mine is metal or something lol ..

Today me and my mom went back in and my mom learnt how to turn the key.
It took ages for her to get used to it and they had to turn it back so many times so that my mom could practice a bit more.
They gave us the key and gave me a PINK proxabrush which I love so much

- May 15: Visit to dentist for referral. No cavities

- June 7: Consultation and records with Orthodontist
- June 20: Ortho Presentation
- July 4: Expanders in!!
- July 5: Learn how to turn key (with mom)

August 3: Stop turning expander

August 9: Expander appointment

Oh and by the way, turns out that I only need to turn my expander once a day .. not three times. YAY

Anyway, when they turned the key today .. I was able to feel the expander get wider .. such a weird feeling. And now, I can't talk as well now .. I was reading aloud last night and was able to get used to my expander so quickly .. and now I have to do it all over again.

Congratulations on starting your treatment

It's great that you didnt have to get spacers in.

Sorry to hear you having trouble speaking. You should try that Rainbow Passage that ive seen quite a few people talking about. Apparantly that will help alot.

Fromwhat i can tell by your pics you have got great teeth so i bet they will look fantastic after your treatment.

So just over a month to go until your next expander appointment. i hope everything goes ok until then and that you'll get your braces on soon after.

anyways i accidentally missed one day of turning my expander cause i totally forgot about it

so .. umm .. yeah

so right now i'm on turn #4 .. oh well .. luckily my expander appointment isnt until the 9th of aug
