*tap* wrote:crazy your teeth are just like mine, apart from my fangs were higher up and my two front teeth slanted inward. i'm 6 months in now after getting my fangs in line now just to pull them lateral incisors out i think they'll be stubborn. good luck with your treatment, hope you have fast movement through out. :)
Yeah, I tend to have speediness after adjustments :) So it's good I have one coming up! I have a stubborn tooth too hehe.

Ohmygawd my next adjustment is today!! I had the weirdest dream about it last night where the appt was at like 9:30 at night but my mom was asleep and thought it was currently 1 am, and I was waiting and waiting. I'm ready to be disappointed though. I want to get new equipment to move my teeth back to center, like powerchains or elastics. Everything is kinda shifted to the left right now; my midline is totally off. I can tell because the extraction sites on the right didn't close up at all but the ones on the left did by a lot lol! So stuff is not aligned. That's fine obviously, because it can be fixed. And my bite is almost ready to shift forward... I have a few teeth who are still blocking a bite that lets my lower jaw come forward into a much more comfortable position. The fact that my closed-jaw position is so "clenchy" and uncomfortable is why I often let my jaw hang loose.

So! Here's to hoping...

Horray!! I got powerchains today!! And I'm not sure for the name of the metal wires she twisted around my lowers; are they just called metal ligatures?

I was sitting in the chair and she said "these are looking pretty straight, it'll be time to close the gaps soon!" and so I thought Oh well, next time then... but after she had all of my ligs off she looked at them long and hard and said "You know what, they really ARE straight. I think we can close up those gaps!" So yaaay!!!

Pictures, of course! The first one is kinda fun: it's a before and after of my lower arch (sorry, don't have one of the top arch) showing today's new equipment too, along with the TONS of improvement I've made. The second picture is just my usual front-on shot.

I picked silver powerchain on top and blue on the bottom. Why? Well, aside from reading lots of advice to do so on here, I mainly did it because silver and blue are Ravenclaw's colors, and I'm going to the opening night of the new Harry Potter movie tonight! I know, I'm such a nerd! But now I can tell people my teeth are cosplaying hahah!!

So without further adieu, the pictures!

One thing I had noticed is that my open bite on my left side has shrunk since when I first got the pink ligatures, so that's good. They DID do something! lol.

Thank you!

I'd like to add that the pain started several hours after the new gear... and ooooow! It's as bad as the first days with wire!! But that's cause stuff is moving again. So it's all good :)

So my bite has definitely shifted forward at last! Hurray for my lower jaw not being shoved into my skull anymore! It's still not totally right yet, but at least I can close my mouth in the new forward position more easily. Can't chew in that position yet haha, but it's getting there.

One week since I got the elastics, and the pain is just about gone. I think it went away a lot faster than when I first got my braces. That or I'm tougher!!

I'd like to apologize for all of my pictures being gone. A freak on a debate forum decided that since he couldn't persuade me to his views, he would instead stalk me and post private information about me on those forums. So I had to quickly delete/remove any traces of my identity linked to that email. I tried making my Photobucket private but it didn't work for some reason, and I didn't have the time to wait. So it's gone! :(

That's ok though! I have the pictures saved yay! I'll compile the ones I have so far into one bigger picture and post that soon. I have an appointment tomorrow yay!

2 of my 4 gaps are closed. I reckon the third and possibly the fourth will get power chain tomorrow. Then it's on to the tricky work lol!

SO yeah! Gap #3 is on its way to being closed, though it feels like it's going slower than the other two did. I still have the figure-8 wire on my bottom arch to keep it in shape. I hope once my gaps are closed I can get a square wire and elastics to close the open bites I have on the sides! I also have an eyetooth that is still a wee bit wonky and it hits sometimes when I close my mouth. Actually, it hits the lower eye tooth which is also very slightly wonky. Hah! So they both need to be rotated a bit. The whole collection needs evening out now haha.

Thanks for the reply ^^ I appreciate it!

In the news, I think one of my wisdom teeth is trying to come in... the gum is all wonky shaped up there and it seems like I can feet one of the points of the tooth pressing against my gumline... I'll have my ortho look at it next appointment as long as nothing drastic changes between now and then. I may need to have those extractions after all :( poo!!

Uhg... yep. I'm teething again XD The tiny bump finally broke through and it is indeed the tip of my wisdom tooth. Boo! So I guess I'll have to get them extracted now. Which sucks.

Good luck with the wisdom teeth! Just keep everything clean, rinse with salt water and such and don't try to eat anyhting too hard or crunchy too soon and you will be fine! Your teeth look great!

Thanks! Yeah, I remember having to be really careful after my premolar extractions. I was so scared of dry-socket lol!
