Hi Ken, thanks for your reply!
All the support and information freely given by those ahead of me in my journey is greatly appreciated. Sure, I don't know exactly what will be happening in the upcoming months, but it is nice to have varied stories to read about the possibilities!
Not much new to report other than a note about any/everything berry related: be it strawberry, raspberry or SPAM SPAM SPAM, those lil delicious morsals have bastid seeds that sneak into every gap between teeth and try to set up their own hellion community workshop production of 'The Story of the Marquis de Seed'. Eaters of said fruits...BEWARE!!!

Arrrghhhhhhhh...inner cheek has been turned into ground meat...Yes folks, the dreaded 'pokey-wire'...or is it??? After feeling around with various fingers and tongue, I discovered that the end of the wire that the doc had graciously bent over <so not to poke>, was now partially un-bent!!! And a sharp lil piece of mofo wire it was too, let me tell you !!!
I had read on this site somewhere <thank you to whomever posted the idea>, to take a spoon and gently try to bend the wire...which worked like a charm!! Of course now, I have to deal with the screaming shreds of flesh. A lil wax on the band and some Ambesol should quite the riot until it heals up.
Spring is nearly here...get out and enjoy it if you can!!

p.s. from the previous post about berries, the SPAM monster attacked the raspberry type that isn't red in colour, but black.

I'm very pleased to report that the raw-meat of inner cheek has been healing up nicely, now that the evil slicer-wire was bent back into position. I am amazed at how quickly the tissue has responded to being left alone with the help of wax and more wax. Another day or so should have things back to 'normal'.

A side note to any possible spammer spammer, hey I'm a spammer so please report me execs who *might* be perusing this site: how come there are no options for 'braced-teeth' when making a Mii on the spam system? (yes, I'm an adult in braces who has a slight addiction to playing Super Mario Tennis on spam......stop laughing!!)

I see the SPAM monster removed the name of the gaming system I use, which sounds like 'Wheee'.

Ken: it's not on the computer, it is actual physical play, not sitting on the couch or at a desk..using those things called 'muscles' and balance.. :P

Spring has sprung.....with snow flurries!!! Crazy weather continues!

I've had the same lower archwire since I began in Feb, and I am noticing where it bridges across a non-bracketed tooth, it has lost the initial tension it had when it was installed. I am guessing this means that the wire has done all it can during the 6wks it has been in place. I'm due for an adjustment in 2 more wks, so I get the feeling it will be replaced at that time.

Hope everyone is enjoying a more 'spring-like' day!

Cold with off-and-on rain here in Olympia, with brief appearances of sunshine. Better than snow, but not the 75 degree weather I pine for!

Another entry to the "WTF is happening with my teeth?" saga...

I wake Saturday morning to find the upper molar in front of the banded molar, has shifted dramatically overnight...the process of widening my arch has officially begun...with one single tooth! Oh, and it's loose..what joy! So I think, ok...here we go...the others will follow suit...they continue to taunt me remaining steadfast in their current locations!!

Sunday morning: now a upper front tooth has begun to complain and throb, perhaps in response to the molar shift...who knows? I feel as if I should set up a roulette wheel and spin it daily to see what will happen...place your bets folks, place your bets..can't win if you don't play!

Sorry sdawdy, it was not the right upper cuspid..therefore I must take the blogging chips you wagered and donate them to fund an orthodontist office in outer Mongolia, where those with dental issues are not just llamas!

For those of you out there who enjoy peanut butter, I feel I must inform you about a scrumptious find: www.ilovepeanutbutter.com (dark chocolate PB, cinnamon raisin PB and the hot spicy PB are the ones I tried first)...tasty treat sensations right off the spoon....I will be testing all three flavours baked into cookies soon and will report back.

Next adjustment is April 6th...am looking forward to a new archwire on the bottom and maybe a new one on top as well...crossed fingers!

PB Update: The cookies all came out terrific. Favourite is the cinnamon-raisin which I rolled in cinnamon sugar before baking...the spicy ones are also really good, as are the chocolate ones. I'm considering making them into sandwich cookies, with the PB they are made from, as the filling.

Tooth-Pain-Roulette: past couple days have been the right front and it's neighbor..holy moly, everything has shot zinging pain jolts into my skull..hope the wheel turns again soon and different teeth take their place.

Still a week away from my next adjustment...it can't come too soon!!

2 months in...I can hardly believe it sometimes, and yet othertimes, it seems like forever!!

I got brave today and tried the sugar-free gum 'Freedent'..and the claims are true, it does NOT stick to most dental work...including brackets!! It also feels good to chew, even with the loosening teeth. I feel as if I am helping the process along a bit, like 'come on lil toofies, move along, get to where you are suppose to end up, atta boys'. Hey, don't laugh, people talk to plants to encourage their growth!!

A few more days until my next adjustment..in that respect, time is passing really slowly!!

Hey opera^gal,

Congrats on your two months. Today is my 2 month as well, and I agree, I can't believe it has been 2 months!

The day I got my braces I asked about the sugar-free gum and my Ortho was against it...well I didn't listen to him and chewed anyway. I think I waited a week before I started chewing gum, I just couldn't give it up haha!

Congrats again!

Blake
