Thank you so much TDiamond and PrincessPeach! I was 26 when I got braces, and I am 27 now, and getting braces has been one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I'm so excited to finish out my treatment!

Another Adjustment

#34 Post by mlholl19 »

I had an adjustment this morning, and it was fairly uneventful. My ortho told me my teeth are moving along really well, he made some adjustments to my wires (I've been in the same wires forever), put the wires back in, and the assistant put on my powerchains. I chose green this time. At first my teeth didn't hurt at all, but they have started to bother me tonight, but I had a margarita so I'm trying not to take any pain relievers. Here's a picture of my braces today.

I went to the ortho today for an adjustment. He filed some of one of my teeth so it will help my bite come together better, and then he replaced the powerchains. Overall it was pretty uneventful, but I did get some exciting news.......only 3 more visits to the orthodontist............so excited!!!

A Brief Update

#36 Post by mlholl19 »

I just wanted to post a pic for a brief update of how my teeth are coming along these days. So far things are going well. I only have about 3 more appointments left. He's working on my bite, and so far I haven't had to have bands and hopefully I won't have to (crossing my fingers). Here's my teeth lately...

Frustrated

#39 Post by mlholl19 »

I'm a bit frustrated today, which doesn't happen very often. I went to the orthodontist this morning for an adjustment, thankfully I only have about 2-3 more visits then I'm done. This morning he did some filing on my teeth, and now I have a gap between my upper 2 front teeth, and one between my lower 2 front teeth. I trust my ortho completely and he's been wonderful, but I must say I'm a bit disheartened. I've been gap-free for months, and I've loved being gap-free, and now I have gaps again and I hate it. Not huge gaps, but gaps. I hope this all works out for the better in the end. I'm sure I'll feel better later, but right now I feel a bit disheartened, especially when I'm just a few months away from being finished.

I'm sorry you are feeling disappointed in today's appt. You're teeth are gorgeous though! I get those same feelings of wondering what my ortho is doing b/c sometimes it seems she's messing everything up but it always seems to fall into place the way it's supposed to.

Vanessa,

Thanks for the encouraging words! I trust my ortho, and I know he does a great job. Sometimes it just seems like things get worse before they get better. I only have about 3 more months left to go, so hopefully things will get way better!
