I still haven't been able to floss the bottom middle six so I've booked an appointment at my general dentist to get them cleaned on Monday. Please tell me this isn't going to hurt too much!

Just over 2 weeks before I go back for my next adjustment and I feel like there's been no progress since the last time I was there! Why won't my lower teeth move?!

I'm starting to feel like I should have got metal upper and lower. Since I've had my metal lowers put in my ceramic uppers feel sooooo big and clunky. I feel like they're more visible than the metal just because of the size. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.

No pain really except the day I was using my phone in bed and dropped it on my face!! Yowza!

When I wake in the mornings all my back teeth touch together but by about an hour later it's gone back to normal with just the back 2 on the left touching.

I'll post new pics in 2 weeks when I get my adjustment. Hopefully you'll notice some difference.

I had my adjustment on Monday.

Both wires were changed for rectangular wires. I believe I heard 17.25 and 18.25 but I don't know what I actually got. Still got my coil, trying to create a little more space for my 2nd premolar. There wasn't quite enough space to attach it to the wire this time. But my next adjustment is in 4 weeks so the coil should come off then.

My ortho doesn't want to move my lowers too quickly because my gums are quite thin and he doesn't want my teeth to come through my gums. Knowing that information means waiting for movement is a little easier to bear!

Quite a lot of pressure on my teeth now and eating anything other than mashed potato is extremely difficult.

And then, brushing my teeth at lunchtime today, I felt something pop. On inspection, I had caught my brush in the hook on my 2nd molar and dislodged the bracket a little bit. It still seems to be attached on one side but I don't know if it's just the wire keeping it in place. The wire is now poking into my cheek so I called my ortho and I'm going back to see him tomorrow at 6pm.

More details about the fix then.

Next adjustment is in 4 weeks on 22nd November.

I went to the ortho today to get my braces fixed.

Apparently I had dislodged the glue. The bracket was still attached to it but the glue was no longer attached to my tooth. So he snipped the wire off, including the bracket and will be fixing a new bracket at my next appointment.

I keep touching the tooth with my tongue. It feels really smooth and weird without the bracket attached to it.

Better not get too used to it though, having the bracket put back on it in four weeks time at my normal appointment

My lower second molars aren't even attached to the arch wire anymore.. so maybe you can have a smooth tooth a little longer :) Glad everything went well at your adjustment I'm sure the soreness will pass soon. :rose: :flowerbloom:

It took almost 2 weeks from my last adjustment to get back to anything like normal chewing. For the first week I couldn't really manage anything solid at all and the second week was hardly better. I can manage most things again now but my bite is just crazy. I only have one point of contact which makes it very tricky.

The space creating coil is driving me mad. It's really irritating and has been rubbing itself a nice little rough patch in my cheek. I tried not using wax so I could toughen my cheek up but I finally gave up and covered the coil completely with wax. The relief was instantaneous and welcome but I feel defeated. Like I should have preservered but hopefully it's coming off in 2 weeks anyway. I really want it off so I can engage my wayward premolar and get some movement started on it. I'm really looking forward to it joining the rest of my teeth in a neat arch instead of partying on its own!!

I can't see any progress in my teeth since the last pics but I can feel it. So, maybe when I get my next adjustment I'll post some more to see if you can see any differences.

One odd little thing, I have this funny ticking feeling in my teeth. It's a bit like when you're tired and your eye ticks. Do you know what I mean? But it's a bit more fluttery. Very strange.

Amazing progress on your 2 month mark (from the first page!) Thanks for sharing pics, it helps me to want to do this more.
