Hi Tintooth.

I am so jealous of everyones lovely white teeth on this board, and yours are no exception! I actually don't really notice how crooked or squint they are, well i notice obviously but the first thing i see is the condition of them . I found with my braces that i was constantly looking to see how they were shifting in the beginning that it was difficult to see progress but they will straighten out quicker than it seems at the moment :).

You are going to have one awesome smile once you get the tin off ;), and you're right it will definitely be worth it.

Thanks a bunch braceface and dee! I really love how encouraging everyone is on this forum. It's so awesome!

So, today marks 2 weeks of wearing braces. I can't believe it is already 2 weeks! I can completely forget about them now and I'm far less self conscious when talking to someone or smiling. Eating has been pretty much back to normal as well! I don't have any sores at the back of my cheeks where wires stick out anymore, but I do have a new sore at the front of my bottom lip.. It is in a very weird spot as there are no wires sticking out at the front. My bottom cheek actually gets 'caught' on my braces and I have to rip it off. OUCH. It hurts and is oh so very annoying. Ah well, it'll toughen up soon.

Flossing has become much easier now. The first week it was impossible to floss, but only because of pain.. It hurt way too much and my teeth are so crowded, it just made it impossible. But now when I floss, there is more space and its easier! YAY! I also noticed my left lateral incisor has a HUGE space on both sides of the tooth. It was like I woke up one morning and the space was just there. It is so weird to see this space! But, I am so excited and I love seeing it. I have noticed other changes with my upper teeth too! I can't see any changes in my lower teeth, but that'll come in the next few weeks I hope.

I can't wait for my first adjustment, Dec. 3rd! I can just imagine I will see some great changes by that date! I am so so so happy I finally got braces. NO regrets whatsoever!!!! :jump:

Hey Tin Tooth,
Glad to know that you're making out so well and that you have no regrets. That's awesome.
Yes, everyone on this forum is so supportive and encouraging. It has been a lifesaver for me.
I just got home from having my braces put on. Like 30 minute ago. So far no pain. They just feel very weird in my mouth. She put in the bite turbos but she said that I should be able to chew. So, I guess we'll see how that goes when I get ready to eat some supper.
Anyway, I'm glad that you're happy with the results you're seeing.
Take care,
Dee

Tin Tooth~
My lowers looked so much like yours do. They will eventually get straight but mine were stubborn. Hold tight you will start seeing changes soon. BTW your uppers are looking great!

Hi Tin Tooth,
Looking good! Don't be in too much of a hurry for your bottom teeth to start moving. I sure understand that but you don't want your roots to shorten. That's been something I've been a bit concerned about.
So, my first week was pretty uneventful. Not a HUGE amount of pain. It was pretty manageable with extra-strength Tylenol. I have a very sore spot on my upper left gum but the technician at my orthodontist's office said that it's probably because that tooth is starting to move. I have a pretty big space between two of my bottom teeth which kind of surprises me. He told me that he would be "uprighting" my bottom teeth (they are tipped forward) but I didn't think he was going to be moving them laterally, too. I have seen very small changes in my upper gap. It is a teensy bit smaller today. I still have not gotten to the point, like you, where I've actually forgotten about my braces. They just feel so HUGE in my mouth and I am constantly aware of them. I've been doing a lot of teeth clenching at night and have exchanged waking up 2 or 3 times each night because of anxiety attacks with waking up 2 or 3 times each night because I'm clenching so hard I give myself a headache. I'm also clenching during the day but when I become aware of it, I can relax my jaw and stop doing it. She said that's normal because my mouth is getting used to all the new hardware in there. I just hope it stops soon.
Take care!
Dee

Thanks Dee and Braceface!!!

I am loving the changes my teeth have made so far! My top teeth are already straight. I can't believe it! It really didn't take very long for them to move, but they weren't too crowded to begin with. I can really see changes in my bottom teeth when I compare them with the mold of my teeth that I got from the ortho. They are all starting to move forward, I love it! I can't wait to hear what my ortho says on my first adjustment.

How are your teeth doing Dee? Seeing good movement already? Have you forgot about them yet?

Hi Tin Tooth,
Yes, I am starting to see some changes. My left front incisor which was jutting out and was fairly twisted has lined right back up with the other tooth. This happened very quickly in fact. The space between my two front teeth has also closed a little bit. I also have a new space between two of my teeth on the lower arch which has caused me a bit of worry only because I am uncertain as to why I would develop something like that. But one of the other members said that your teeth will often get worse before they start to look better. I was just very surprised because other than my bottom teeth being tipped forward, there wasn't much of an issue with them.
I think I've finally gotten the hang of flossing now. It only takes me about 25 minutes each night so that's been a HUGE improvement and it makes me happy.
Let us know how your first adjustment goes in a few weeks. I have mine on December 17th and I'm really hoping he will revise the length of time I will need braces once he sees the progress I've already made. Got my fingers crossed!
