Hey I'm doing great! Still a little pain here and there... 1 bottom tooth feels sorta loose and hurts a bit... but no biggie really. And a few of my teeth have been feeling "clicky." I stopped wearing my wax on my back brackets during the day but do put it on at night. I still feel little spots on my cheeks but I think they are healing and they don't hurt.

I ate some chicken breast today and didn't have any problems. I can chew if I sorta go side to side a little instead of directly up and down. I dunno if that makes sense.... I had some asparagus yesterday that was hard to eat though... They were soft but fibrous so it was hard to pull apart. I didn't feel like cutting it so I just ate some and then gave up.

Other than that, only real thing is that my braces been feeling weird... Maybe my mouth has been more dry this weekend so they just feel weird. My mouth doesn't feel real dry but that's the only thing I can think of. And it's really hard to explain. It's not really a huge deal anyhow.

Glad you're feeling a little better. I went through a patch of time just after I got mine on (about a week or week and a half) where my brackets felt dry. It was a weird feeling. Sort of like dry mouth but not.

Unfortunately your lips sticking to your brackets when you sleep is one of those things no one ever tells you to expect (there's a whole thread about it around here somewhere-we're all a bunch of puffer fish in the morning having to blow our cheeks off our brackets :P).

Hope the cold passes quickly for you.

HA I was the one who started that post about sleeping, which led into the "puffer mouth" stuff. I haven't really had that much of a problem with that. Though last night I didn't wear my wax and woke up with a new sore or something and I'm not even sure what it's from. Almost like I bit my cheek but I can't figure out if it's a scratch or what.

I think it is that my braces feel dry! Like if you mouth isn't dry, how can your braces feel dry but that's really what it is. Weird. Maybe i just noticed it more since it was the weekend and I wasn't busy doing stuff.

That dry feeling does pass (well unless you eat yoghurt, I think orange juice and slushee's do the same from memory).

And lol, sorry! I couldn't remember who started it, just that it was here recently and we were all talking about it

More than half my sore spots are one's I wake up with. Not sure if my braces mash into my cheeks while I sleep or like you said, I'm biting something while I'm sleeping. Hope it goes away for you soon!

I've decided that I don't think my braces look very cute. lol Some people look really cute in their braces... I, however, do not feel that I am one of them. Maybe no one does though. Maybe it's just other people thinking the braces look cute.

I dunno, I don't really feel that self concious with them, but when I look at myself, I sorta feel like they make my gap look much more pronounced. Maybe it's because my smile is different with how I have to hold my teeth with these bite things (I really don't know if they are bite turbos or what... I just call them "bite things")

I've been feeling good, though one of my back molars has been a little sore and "clicky." I don't really know why though because I can't imagine it's moving or anything. It's my 2nd to last bracket and the wire ends on that one right now. Of course, when it's clicky, I can't help but push on it and make it click all the time.

I ate salad the other day with some sliced beets in it and as I was eating, decided to check my mouth out. YAHH... big ol red chunk of beet right in the middle on my bottom teeth. It was funny, but surely not cute. Good thing I wasn't out to eat. Though I tihnk I am really glad now that I don't have any ligatures on my brackets. Beets would probably stain them so bad!! Though I know I'll have to have some powerchains. That will probably be my only chance at some color so I might just try to get some color instead of going clear. Why not!? lol We'll see. That's a ways off.

I don't think I look cute in mine either but I like them on other people.

The clicking is your tooth moving. They get clicky, then they move, then the clicking goes away :) I always feel compelled to press on mine with my tongue and make them click too even though I know I probably shouldn't. I'm often surprised at which teeth are clicking and which one's aren't.

Naw the clicky thing isn't bad. It's just odd... don't freak out!

I felt like I was in a "braces comedy show" today at lunch!

I ate and then went to waterpik and brush my teeth before I went back to work (because I live at my work... literally!) After I filled up my waterpik container, I dropped the lid into the water... water all over! Then I waterpiked to get all my lunch out of my teeth (gross.) then I brushed my teeth. I decided I would use my mouthwash that I never use too. I never used mouthwash before this... what's the point!? So when I got my braces, I got some. Well apparently I got the wrong kind that leaves blue goop in your braces (It's Crest Pro Health something or other.) Anyhow, I've only used it three times and I thought it only left blue stuff if I rinsed with water afterward so I didn't do that this time. Well, not true! There was blue stuff all over... So I went to waterpik again. I just sprayed around real quick but not much came out so as I was going to waterpik again, I accidentally pushed the "release the head" button instead of the "pause the water" button and I shot the head off right into the sink drain!

Well, we don't have a little drain cap thing so it's opened... but we have a little bar in there like 6 inches down and it caught the waterpik head so it didn't go all the way in. But I still couldn't reach it so I grabbed some tweezers and got it thankfully! (Meanwhile, my husband is standing downstairs by the door waiting for me because it's time to go back to work!)

So I cleaned it off and go to put it back on to try to waterpik the rest of the blue stuff out... when I realize I just layed the sprayer base on the counter in all the chaos and it acts like a drain and was draining water all over! Then I start the waterpik back up and I ended up shooting water past my face twice somehow. I was just laughing the whole time.

Maybe it isn't that funny to anyone else but it was all pretty funny to me!

Hahaha, the things that happen to us!!! I have a generic waterpik that you attach to your tap. First time I used it I turned the tap on too hard and the thing was like a fire hose. I let it go in surprise and it sprayed itself ALL over the bathroom! Took me half an hour to clean up the mess I made in 0.2 seconds

Glad you managed to rescue your waterpik head! I can only imagine how expensive those are to replace (although in the US the entire unit seems to be about half the price it is in Australia).

HAHAHAHA!!! this made me laugh heaps :) you poor thing, all you can do is laugh, i swear waterpiks have a mind of their own!!! The other night I sprayed myself in the EYE with it! LOL! no idea how! it just happened! and then i went to turn it off to move it to another part of my mouth and instead of turning it off i turned it on HIGH and hit the back of my throat with the water and OUCH! that water is really strong when it wants to be!! not cool! You should see our bathroom mirror, i dont even bother cleaning it anymore lol.
glad you got your waterpik head out of the sink though! that was lucky :)

I think it's so odd that different teeth hurt everyday... Earlier today it was a premolar on my left side... now it's the same tooth on the other side (they both still hurt actually) They didn't hurt yesterday... what makes them decide that that's the day they are going to move?? Weird...

Even though random teeth have been hurting randomly... it's not real bad so I've been feeling pretty comfortable. No sores or weird rubbing. But then I get thinking about my first adjustment in 2 weeks and I feel sorta nervous because stuff is going to hurt again. I'm just worried they will hurt way worse than when they got put on and then I'll hate it all. lol

I feel like since I have had these braces, I have been looking at my teeth real hard. And I keep noticing all these things where I'm like "uhh is that new or has that been there!?"

I'm like freaking myself out almost. Like I just noticed a spot on my bottom tooth that looks like a chip almost. There's no way it's could have been from having these braces since my top teeth don't touch my bottom tooth there. Maybe it's from my teeth rubbing before I had braces.

I have also noticed some discoloration... My big front tooth has a discolored spot... but I can't seem to get it to show in a picture... so I can't tell if it's a shadow or I'm crazy or what?!?!?

Can the glue or etch stuff they put on stay on and then discolor a tooth?
