Have fun at your appointment! It'll be ok. I'm going in 8 days for my first and already need a bracket to be glued back on lol! I'm Going to get flack from the ortho for sure :-* .

P.S. Your last photo is not showing at all, there's a big red X...I've noticed that alot of my photo's are gone from this site too. The administrator Lynn posted that she's been having trouble with the website hosting company...so we'll see what happens...

Thanks Maple! I don't know why my picture is not showing. It showed the first 2 days after I posted it and then it went to the red 'x'.

I go for my adjustment in a couple hours! I will take a pic after appointment and hopefully get it to upload!

Update: first adjustment

#33 Post by TrustGodAuburn »

Day 36
1st adjustment update:

I got to orthos office and was called back immediately. My ortho took a look at my teeth and then had his assistant change the ligs. He ended up leaving the same wire and did a figure 8 with the ligs. Ouchie!!! My teeth hurt so bad from the pressure of twisting the lig into the figure 8. The ortho commented that I seem to be pretty sensitive. Duh!

Then he asked me if I can come back tomorrow and get my bottom brackets put on! I was supposed to be waiting 10 weeks but he said my top teeth have moved out enough to put them on now. So tomorrow morning I will go and get bottom brackets! I am anxious!

Dinner tonight was a protein shake as chewing is too much trouble.

Will post a new pic tomorrow when I have bottom brackets too!

New ligs... Pink for breast cancer awareness month. I feel like they make my teeth look even more yellow than normal!

Day 37 of top brackets, Day 1 of bottom brackets!

#35 Post by TrustGodAuburn »

I went back to orthodontist today and got my bottom brackets placed. It took significantly longer than the top ones because of the extra time it took to get the brackets to bond to my two crowns on my back molars. The orthodontist told me to expect a lot of pain from the bottom because of my severe overcrowding. GREAT. :FeelSick:

I have no idea how I am going to floss between my lower brackets as 3 of them are slammed against each other touching, they could barely get the ligs on.

I actually felt pretty nauseous while he was placing them, but I think I just got too hot.

I took 3 advil before my appointment to get ahead of the pain as I was already pretty sore from my adjustment on top yesterday.

So here goes...

Well, I have had my bottom brackets on for nearly 24 hours now and I have about 4 big huge ulcers/blisters on my bottom inner lip from the front brackets. Ugh. Not fun. I can't even drink without the brackets tearing into my lip. My crowding is all right in the front and the brackets are all smooshed up together right there, so I guess it's just extra irritating to my lip.

I tried to stick some wax on there this morning but I couldn't get it to stay at all. I must be an excessive drooler or something

so sorry you are having such pain from the bottom brackets. I sometimes feel like I just get used to the rubbing, and then my teeth move, and the brackets are in new spots and rubbing again... I put lots of wax on and go to bed. They usually feel better by morning.

Thanks for the support. It is getting a bit better. Yesterday I talked too much I think because the inside of my cheeks are torn up!

About to post a progress pic!

Day 47 top progress

(Top Pic shows day 17, bottom pic shows today, day 47.

I have had the bottom brackets for 10 days and see no progress there. I do see changes on the top, and I hope my teeth don't look that discolored! When I look in the mirror it's not that bad. I am having bleaching done when this is all done! You know, in about 800 days.

Sunshine, I know! I love watching it move. However, today, I feel like the wire looks more crooked than it did last week. Like between my two front teeth there is a deeper bend, not sure what that means, it was almost straightened out there and now bent more. I guess time will tell....

I'm not having any pain at this point, still a bit tender, and can't bite - well - I don't think I can, I don't even try. I still do not see any changes on the bottom, but there is a LOT that has to move down there, so I know it will take some time.

Day 65 Top, Day 28 Bottom

I haven't noticed any changes since around day 40. I hope when I go for my adjustment that I get a bigger wire or something so things start moving again.
