Hi everybody! And thanks evrybody for yours messages.
My never ending story is still going on.
17 months with braces.
Every month some more things in my mouth.
Here the summary after my last visit:
upper and lower clear braces, bite turbos behind incisors, powerchain under my lower arch, powerchain over my upper arch, 2 second class elastics on my right side, 1 elastic on my left side.
What else could I desire?! ;(
My ortho told me that I should need 18 months with braces. I don't think that on next month she will remove everything... I've fear I need minimun one more year. What do you think about?

Hi everybody. After 21 months I'm still with my braces. The treatment was supposed to be 18 month, but I've fear to need minimum another year. Today my ortho changed clear lower canine brackets with metallic brackets to be able to apply more force. She also put for the first time in my mouth (on the lowers) a metallic powerchaine (it hurts a lot!) instead of the elastic one. And she told me to start again to use 5 elastics. One month ago I was very happy because she told me that I don't need elastics anymore. Now I need them again... Why?!
Someone could tell me if is normal, after almost 2 years, to need every month something more in my mouth?!

Hi everybody!
New month and new post!
22 months with braces and a new elastic between upper left canine and lower right canine in order to have more simmetry in my bite.
It's impossible to speak easly with this elastic...
I'm really bored and my orthodontist still didn't tell me how many months I need to finish my treatment.
Any idea from you?

I just went through and read your whole journal and it seems like you have been through a lot to correct your bite. It appears to be working though. Those are some strange configurations for the elastics though. I can see why it is hard for you to talk or eat with them on. I am also going to have a deep overbite/overjet corrected and was told 30 months by my orthodontist. I don't get mine on until next week though. I hope your's gives you some sort of new time frame when your treatment will be done. Hopefully, soon too!
07/14/14 - 4 spacers put in
07/25/14 - braces top and bottom put in minus 2 molar bands that they couldn't fit
9/11/14 - 2 spacers put in between the bottom back molars
9/19/14 - last 2 bottom molar bands in and all hooked up, new wire, started elastics too
10/14/14 - new square wire change and thick elastics
04/24/17 - braces removed!!!

Ciao Concorde

I've followed your thread for a while, I've just started wearing elastics after more than 2,5 years in braces without them and after lower jaw surgery. I really feel for you and that elastic formation you have. Does it get better? My teeth are so sore, I have to double up at night and currently wear class II triangle formation.

Ciao Colbrit! Thanks for your answer! Now I feel better with my elastics, but, anyway, I'm bored about so many month with braces and still without an ending date.
But my treatment is nothing near your! You also get a surgery. A lot of courage!
I will follow yours posts!
Ciao.

Ciao Marco

My pain has subsided too, I supposed I just had to get used to it. I wear double elastics at night so I'm a bit sore in the mornings. Have you asked your ortho for an expected end date? I'm just going with the flow, my ortho said I should be in braces for 18 months before surgery, it was 27 months actually so I suspect I'm still in for a long time, but hey as long as the end results are as perfect as can be.

Surgery was my solution, not something taken lightly but thank God, all went well. I'm so happy with my results and recovery.

Ciao.

Here we are! After 25 months I'm without braces! The removal of braces had been horrible! Full of pain! Expecially when my othodontist was trying to clean my teath from residual of clear brackets. My metal brackets went out very well, but the clears had been destroyed and remained half on the teeth. My teeth now are really dirty, but I enclose anyway some pictures because I need your opinion about the result! I think it's not perfect, but not so bad. But after 2 years of EVERYTHING in my mouth I was expecting something better. Maybe I was needing some more time in braces... In the next weeks I will have the cleaning of teeth and removable retainer on upper teeth. O the lowers I already have a fixed retainer very hard to accept, because it's something like fixed braces, but inside the teeth.
Please, write me something! ;)
