annashefia wrote:hi guys! so im about 11 days in now i can say that my teeth are def shifting!!! i cant say they're getting straight they're just moving, lol. as you guys might have seen in my pic those bumpers that the ortho put on my two front bottom teeth are now of no use! my front top teeth are moving left and are now hitting the bottom tooth next to the tooth with a bumper on it. lol i might have to go in for a pop in visit to have them put another bumper on that tooth. its crazy though!! my teeth also feel very loose, i can actually wiggle them! and i dont now if im just getting a little more stressed but I'm clenching my jaw again! i wasnt clenching it all last week so i dont know what thats all about
as far as eating its still the same, my back teeth still dont touch and i dont think they will for quite a while so ill just have to get used to it! ive found that eating big bites helps chewing and i can sometimes manage to chew with my front teeth and canines but its not easy. lol but foods ive been loving is oatmeal for breakfast, mashed potatoes, gnocci (my fave) cookies (ones that turn mushy when you suck on them long enough...lol) soft bread(i made soft pretzels a couple days ago and YUM!) mac n cheese, I'm pretty much am only eating soft foods at this point, i can eat chicken and what not, i went out to dinner for the first time and that was interesting, lol i took forever to eat and had food stuck everywhere! we went to chinese so everything was pretty much soft. but so delicious! i went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, no one came in but i wouldnt really mind either way, im not embarrassed of my braces what so ever!
work is still fine, im working more this week and all my customers are noticing and being really supportive and giving me tips for them and stuff, and having conversation with a few of my clients that have them currently!
oh and i almost forgot! about the actual pain, i do not have any pain what so ever, i dont know if its because i have the selfligating braces or if the wire they put on me is a very small thin wire but no pain at all, not even soreness! and i can brush my teeth with my electric toothbrush again so any soreness i had is gone. so thats good, i dont go back for almost 2 months so ill check back in in a couple more weeks!!
and i am going to be posting my journey on youtube as well! i will hopefull be able to film my first video some time this week, to be able to show you guys more in depth and talk more and post my progress. this site is awesome but having video will be good too. my username on youtube is annashefia as well, its actually a beauty channel but i will be mixing the two.
PS is anyone else in the states hating this daylight savings time change? it is impossible for me to wake up in the mornings! ugh!
welcome back!
it must feel weird to have wobbly teeth? I would be freaking out! lol but I know that is a normal process of it all so when it becomes my turn I will keep saying to myself "its normal, its normal!" lol.
I am glad to hear that you are not having any pain that is excellent!!! so happy for you and I am excited to see your youtube video!! let me know once you have put one up
I am in Australia and we have daylight savings too. Ours is about to end on 7th April (I think!) just that extra hour etc can make such a difference to sleeping etc! it is hard to get used to but hopefully you adjust soon
love hearing about how you are going and keep me posted with the youtube video
Wobbly teeth are normal. Mine kind of get clicky and I can hear them crunch into or out of place if I push them with my tongue. It's horrible! But usually only lasts a couple of days then they settle into place and stop wiggling.
You have my empathy with the jaw clenching I too do it. It will happen on and off but I definitely go through patches where it's bad all night every night, then it will ease up for a little bit. My ortho said it's related to the bite moving and your jaw trying to get used to the new way it's supposed to sit (or something along those lines, he sounded much more technical than I do ).

Yea I can forge same thing! It's soooo weird! Lol
And about the clenching jaw that makes total sense! My bite is def moving and I've been waking up all week with a really sore jaw! It's so weird how it wasn't happening last week! But hopefully it will go away, I hate waking up to that feeling, I think I might get a mouth guard, I'm worried ill clench so hard it will pop off a bracket somewhere!
Ugh so it has begun! My bad luck! Haha one of my brackets popped off yesterday! It was one on a crown so I think that's pretty normal, i was chewing excessively on that side of my mouth because the other aide has more cuts and I was trying not to use that side and I guess that made it come off I can't get into the ortho until Tuesday! It's so lame! The actual bracket slid off this morning which I'm kinda glad it did because it was bothering me. Not excited to go back to the ortho so soon! Lol but today my sores are almost all gone an I only need wax in one spot now so that's good, that stuff was getting annoying!!!
Don't worry, popped brackets happen. I had one on one side that popped off in the ortho's chair and it's not even the side I chew on (I have an extraction gap on that side and hate chewing there so chew on the other side). Annoying but it'll only take them a minute to glue one on for you

Ugh it's so annoying! But I'm going to be way more careful with what I eat, because I was eating semi crunchy things when that happened :/ hopefully I won't have to many more! Lol

I was eating a rice cake when it popped off! Not that crunchy but I guess that bracket just had enough! Haha
rhibee83 wrote:lol aww poor bracket had had enough and decided to jump! hehehe
Hopefully you can get it glued back on quickly and it will stay put this time
Yea I can't wait for my cheek on the left side to develope scar tissue and callus up because I still can't really chew on that side! It hurts and I have to constantly have wax on it. I can't keep only eating on one side because I will keep breaking brackets. So back to super soft food it is!
