Hi Florencegal

Glad to hear that you're doing well. My top extraction gap has closed a long way too but the bottom gap still seems huge.

Great that you've inspired a colleague to take the brace journey. I have a colleague who is also going to get a brace. She tentatively approached me to ask my experience and is now getting a brace herself. It is good to be an advocate for this.

Regards
Joney

Back once again with apologies for the long absence - I really must make sure I keep up the posts for something to refer to in years to come when this whole experience will seem a long distant memory!

Anyway, I got my 6th adjustment brought forward a week in September because I got in a panic about the clear lig on one of my top incisors coming off - the ortho said it was probably perfectly fine to leave it for a week or two but they managed to fit me in anyway. Adjustment 6 was tough, the archwire is getting thicker although I've now lost the wire closing loops around my extraction sites and a couple of other wire ties. It makes cleaning easier and there are a lot fewer bits of wire to rub and poke. I'm back to jade ligs on the bottom and on the top I now have a clear powerchain from the left premolar all the way round to the right premolar. Other than that, things carry on fantastically and progress is good. I'm wondering when the extraction gaps will FINALLY close up but I guess it will all happen in good time.

I can't believe it's been 10 months already, so hopefully well over half way! My next appointment is 9th November and my "anniversary" is the 10th so I'm trying to think of a nice gift to take in to thank my ortho and all the lovely assistants! Any advice gratefully received :-)

Hope everyone is well and happy and making great progress
