That cutting the straw to cover the bare wires tip sound like a great idea!! I am glad you found something that works. I think my cheeks have toughened up quite a bit. I can feel little "bumps" where I used to have cuts. I hope those are not going to become calluses!! That's SOOOO not sexy! Ewwww!

Yah, you should try the dark pink ligs! I really like mine. Maybe next time I will try dark purple! I don't think I will ever try green...doesn't go with my complexion..LOL.

I was feeling bumps, too, and thought everything was on the up and up and then the wire started cutting into my cheeks again. Not sure why but I am definitely NOT happy about it.

I'm a girly-girl so I'll probably stick with pink and purple ligs throughout my journey. Those are my two FAVORITE colors! I doubt I will ever be doing blue. I REALLY dislike blue! But, I never say never......

WHAT?! You don't think calluses are sexy???

Hi Braced32! Just checked out your story and wanted to say hi and good luck to you. I cant wait to see your braced pics! Sounds like you guys have fun picking cool colors for your ligs.

Is your wire sticking out in the back??? I'm always happy to feel that wire sticking out because it can only mean one thing... movement. And in my case... that means my overjet is coming back to wear it should be. I've had to get my wires snipped a few times between appointments. You should call your ortho and see if you can stop in to have your wires trimmed. It takes less than a minute. See if they can squeeze you in so you'll be a little more comfortable until your next visit.

Hi and welcome to my journal!

Unfortunately, no, the wire is not sticking out in the back. I would be ok with that because then I would know it's movement. Actually, there's not much to do to my bottom arch so there will be very little movement. My upper arch, now there will be TONS of movement - once they are braced!

The bare wire cutting into my cheeks is actually over the extraction sites where I had my second premolars extracted. Once side is way worse than the other - the wire cutting into the cheek, I mean! I don't think that means movement???

I think I'll ask my hubby tonight if he wants to check out my calluses!

I am so happy to see someone else my age getting braces! I saw a girl with light blue ligs on. They looked really cute. I was thinking of getting those but I am thinking of getting the smoke ones to start!

Don't write off blue altogether! You might want to try something new!

I look forward to keeping up with someone else just getting started!

I loved neon pink, got it twice! First time was the powerchain, second time was hot pink single lig ties. I don't really like blue but I think I had turquoise/aqua for a week or so.

Haha....got a great laugh out of all the multiple posts on page 5!

About the bite plate, I think iBorg has his uppers braced and a bite plate. I asked him a few questions and checked out his journal and, yep, he has both uppers and lowers braced and a bite plate. I'd love to have that instead of the turbos(removable, of course) so I could brush but, yeah, I'd be scared I'd leave it out and slow my progress down.

BTW, where are your pics of your braces? I'm waiting!!!

I love your baby pink ligs! I will definitely get baby pink ligs again...although dark pink's really pretty too!

Finally you have your pics up! You're almost close to being braced for a month...happy early anniversary!!
