last night a bracket came loose for the first time, my next adj. is on the 6th of october, don't know if i should wait for that or i should go to get it glued back on :?
my overjet has been reduced even more (it's about 2-3 mm now, but it doesn't bother me at all, i could live with that)
I don't know if you've decided what to do yet.. but, you really should be calling your ortho right away if your bracket comes off. What might happen (I know b/c it happened to me) is that your teeth will shift ever so slightly, and then you'll have to move down a wire strength so that the ortho can put the tooth back into proper position, and THEN go back to the same strength wire after it's back. It basically sets you back however long it takes to get it back in place. For me it was one whole visit, 6 weeks!

I didnt call the ortho. maybe it was a mistake, it's too late now anyway, the adjustment is in 3 days

but i dont think that tooth moved since the bracket came loose, and tooth was straight in the first place (it's a premolar)

good news..bad news

#63 Post by haywire »

hello.. had my adjustment today..

it seems i had 2 brackets poped-off, not just one. my ortho didn't charged me anything to glue them back, but when i got home i noticed that the one in my lower 1st premolar poped-off again  i called the office and the ortho told me it' won't affect anything  and she will glue it at the next adjustment

the good news is that we set the debrace day: december 10th :D
2-3 days before the debrace day she told me to get the lower teeth cleaned by a dentist to remove tartar (i don't know the word in english, but i think scaling maybe..?) because i'm gonna have a bonded retainer on them. i will get the retainers the same day (essix for uppers)

now i have to wear my class 2 elastics only at night, to see if my bite will stay like this.

starting today i have a powerchain on my front upper 6 teeth instead of normal ligatures. i have no ideea why, because i didnt have extractions and i don't have any spaces between teeth, not even black triangles

next and final adjustment is on 11th november

I came over to your story after your wrote on another thread saying that you have flared uppers too!

Congrats on your debrace day! Your teeth look good! it doesn't appear that your upper teeth are too flared, could you post a pic of your side view if you find the time? :D

aw, you're so lucky you have a deband date!!! i long for the day when i get mine! my ortho, about 2 months ago, said "they'll come off in the winter!" and of course that is really vague. Because, I doubt they'll come off in december, so I'm thinking it'll be more like february or march :( my teeth just don't move quickly at all!!! it's slower than watching glue dry.

Your teeth have come along beautifully! They really have moved quickly and they are so pretty. Congrats on the de-bracing date too! I am having relatively minor corrections done for minor crowding and my original estimate was 4-6 months, then I decided to add in the tops at the 3 month mark and THEN at the 5 month mark I decided I really wanted to start tweaking some things so I've consequently added a couple extra months to my sentence but I'm really happy and I want my teeth as perfect as they can be. All in all I think I'll have mine off in about 8 weeks. YAY!

i think the camera that my phone has overexposes the pictures a little bit, or maybe the flash in some pictures, that's why my teeth look that white.
when i look in the mirror they don't look so white to me

i haven't done anything to whiten them. i'm brushing with regular toothpaste 2-3 times/day

6 weeks remaining :D
