You're a step closer...I know spacers are no walk in the park but you will be grateful for them when they put your molar bands. Just say goodbye to enjoying your food for right now. But remain focused. Remember why we're doing this...that beautiful colgate smile  in the end it will be worth it. Hope you don't have too much pain.

I am hurting....badly. Its a constant annoying pain. I feel like tearing these things out for a few hours and replacing them. The tech said if one falls out and it slides right through leave it out because it made enough space.

Tylenol hasnt done crap. I need relief...now! I live in a house with 7 other girls, Im going to go insane. Any tips? Im not a big eater anyway so I can live without food.

Also my bite feels completely off. I cant bite down all the way but when I do teeth touch that never did before, like a completely different bite, is this normal?

Hey there, I've had my spacers in for almost a week and I can tell you now I don't even notice them. The evening of the first day I got sore and the 2nd and 3rd days were misery, but now not only do my teeth not hurt, but biting down only gives me a tiny bit of pain...not bad at all! Hang in there and in another few days you won't even know you have them in!

A week.

And yes, they sent me home knowing how to put them in and everything. My ortho is 40 minutes away, and theyre always booked so they taught me how to put them in, just incase one or more fell out. So I wouldnt have to go 40 minutes north.

They also said if it falls out and there is space and the spacer just kinda slides through just to leave it out. Which the one that fell out there was space but the spacer fit pretty well back in there. Im hoping it falls out again XD

^I see. My ortho is only 5 min away which is probably why they told me what they did, while your situation makes sense. In all honesty I am 100% convinced that my spacers are in for 2 weeks because this entire week they are out of the office! (having some repairs/renovations done)

Yep, 2 weeks for spacers, then I get the molar bands on and they take some impressions for the expander, then 2 more weeks until I get braces/expander put in

First of all Congrats on your new adventure. I read this thread and I just need to stress that you shouldn't worry about the male friend. You're young and should'nt be stressing with this boy. I am very certain once your braces are off you're going to have a great amount of self esteem to realize you could do better. never settle for anything less than your best. Two years is a long time I know but don't let that be the reason why you're still with him.

I am getting my braces in April and was so nervous about telling my boyfriend of 6 1/2 years afraid of how ugly I would look but I opened up to him and he has been so supportive. do it for your self to make you happy and if can suck it up for 2 years then diss him :)
Thing are not always what they seem.

Now braces talk: You are such a pretty girl and I can't wait to see you in braces and see how the progress goes along. Your teeth are not horrid and just think you'll see movement pretty darn fast. I too have crowding and I won't need any extractions and I can't wait. :D

Just read your story...and I see your getting your braces on the 30th. I'm set for the 31st so I'll be sure and check in on your journey to see how it went. Today's Wednesday and I've decided that for the next 7 day's...I'm eating whatever the hell I want and as much of it as I can shove in my face.... :D ok..that might be a little over kill I know. Anyway, good luck to you and I'll be sending good vibes your way.

Thank you Cosmo. You know, Im with him for all the times that it feels right. Which is all the time, for me atleast. You know how men are. They never let you know how they feel most the time. I just have a very interesting situation going on with my boyfriend.

Ive always thought "Chelsea imagine how prettier you would be if your teeth were this way." and it always seemed that all my self-conciousness was linked to my teeth. Ive had boyfriends, attractive ones, and then you know the ones that make you think what the hell! No offense to them. Ive gotten hit on with my current smile, so I can only im really excited about my journey to a new smile. And thank you for calling me pretty. Its wonderful that you have a supportive boyfriend! He sounds like a keeper.

Jensceana73! I ate so much food a few day before my spacers, and Im not sure if it was because I was just really into food or whether it was because I knew I couldnt eat it anymore. Im definetly going to get my hands on some sandwichs once my spacer knock off the pain. Then onto a metal mouth smile!
