Hi, all! Here is my latest update.

I had my second adjustment tonight. The adjustment wasn't comfortable by any means but it was very short... I was probably in and out in five minutes. The only change was that I received two power chains (one on each side) on top... nothing new happened on the bottom. My wire wasn't even changed. I didn't receive a new wire on the top, either. I am quite sore, but am excited to see movement. My ortho and the assistant said they saw movement from the last time I went, so I will post pics later to see what everyone else thinks. She asked if I wanted to come back in six weeks. I said the sooner, the better, so she scheduled me for five weeks from now.

I just wanted to thank NervousNewbie for starting this thread. I've been sitting here reading every post...til the end here. I am an "older" but very nervous newbie to braces....just had mine put on 2 weeks ago and your thread has helped me a lot. I'm still pretty scared about getting two teeth pulled this Thursday but otherwise, I feel calmer knowing what all to expect since you're a few months ahead of me. Thanks again and I hope you'll continue with the pics, etc.

WOW, hello!

I don't know if any of you posters are still around or not... I know it's been a SUPER long time since I've posted! I apologize for that, but I just had a ton of personal stuff happen in the meantime!

I don't have a good close-up pic of my teeth right now, but I uploaded a picture of my husband and I which shows that there have been significant changes! Everything is still moving along slowly but surely!

I came back because I am in need of some encouragement. I started wearing rubber bands several months ago. I was originally prescribed Gorillas and wore one on each side. Now I am to wear Tortoises on my left side only. I'm having an extremely difficult time motivating myself to continually wear this band. I ashamedly admit that I will only start to wear it a week or so before my next follow-up, even though I know this isn't doing myself any good and is only extending my treatment time.

I thought if I came back here and reminded myself of how far I've come and that I'm not alone, maybe I can be more motivated to do what I need to do and wear my bands properly.

I hope at least some of you are still around and pop back in to say hello!
