Thanks shysmile :)

I'm seeing my ortho next week to have my wire fitted so think i'll ask him then.
I was worried he wouldn't be able to put the wire on if I was going to have my gum cut open as I thought it'd get in the way, but my boyfriend thinks if the wire is behind the teeth then it shouldn't as they'll do it from the front. So think i'll wait until next week & speak to him about it. Don't want to have to put off having the wire fitted. Just want to get on my way now. Feel like it's taken forever to get going & start my treatment properly. He'll have hopefully seen the xray too by then.

I think i'm going to ask to have my gum cut open & get it out even if my ortho says it's ok to be left in there :FeelSick: I know if it's in there i'll just be worried the rest of my life incase it causes me problems at some point & I have to ruin my smile that i've waited so many years for :(

These stupid upper extractions are causing me some right grief!!!!

It's day 5 & I'm still needing painlkillers. My mouth is aching so bad & is so sore. Feels like the day I first had my brace on.

Oh please stop hurting soon. Got to go through all this again next week when I have my wire & first adjustment OUCH!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Lu Lu,

Sorry to hear your upper extractions are causing you grief :(

When is your adjustment next week? My first is on Monday. I'm not looking forward to it, and I don't even have any extraction soreness to deal with, so I really feel for you :( and hope the extractions start feeling better soon!

You know what I was thinking the same thing... I went shopping in Tescos earlier this evening and there was no snow laid. I came out an hour later and it had laid and was snowing pretty bad. If it gets any worse, I might have to phone up and change my appointment.

Thank you and good luck for Tues (hopefully the snow wont be too bad)

WAHOOOOOO first adjustment down just another 100 or so to go ha ha!!

Had the wire fitted on my lingual brace too. I'm officially up & running now!
My speech has been affected ever so slightly since having the wire attached. I don't think it'll be too much of a problem. It slips every now & then. But hopefully with time it will go just like when I had the brackets fitted.

Feels like I've got so much stuff in my mouth now though. This wire doesn't half make it feel big & bulky. I thought that about the brackets though but soon adapted. I guess that's what this is all about, adjusting. Everything feels weird at first but days / weeks later it just feels normal.

Had my stained green ligs changed on my lowers. I'm all nice & clean again YAY! Had my wire tightened too.

Back I go in another 3 weeks for another adjustment BRING IT ON BABY!!!!!

Hey lu lu I am glad your adjustment went well :D

Is your adjustment in 3 weeks for just your lowers/uppers or both? I thought my next (2nd) adjustment would be sooner, but it's in 7 weeks time.

wowzers my front top 4 teeth don't half hurt  There is so much pressure on them since having my wire attached. I haven't got my lower 4 front teeth in brackets yet so this is all new to me. It feels awful. Think i'm going to struggle to eat my Christmas dinner & all the goodies that come with Christmas  fingers crossed it will have gone for 3 days time!!!

There is hardly any room in my already small mouth & eating is so weird I'm scared i'll snap my wire when I chomp on my food haha!! Hopefully i'll adjust to it pretty quickly.

Thanks huni :D

I think it's just for my uppers (lingual) sure that's what he said when he fitted my brackets a few weeks ago. It should of been 4 weeks but they couldn't get me in then so it's 3 weeks & then i'm back again 6 weeks later (guessing that will be my lowers & possibly my uppers too)

Can't wait to see what my teeth will look like in about 6 months time :-*

Thought it was time I updated & added some new piccies too.

Well the pain from my top 4 front teeth has gone now. I managed to eat my xmas dinner & all the goodies I was worried I wouldn't be able to. Thank god!!

Speech is ok now too. Seem to have the hang of it again. Sound right about 98% of the time.
Even forgot my lingual brace was there over xmas too (maybe that was down to the drink  )

Only problem i'm having is that the wire on my last bracket is a bit too long & is constantly digging into my tongue. It's very sharp. I've had to live with wax over it constantly for the past week. Going to try & get in & see my ortho either 2moz or thurs & get it trimmed. His only open those 2 days AM only for emergenices over the xmas break. Once that wire's been trimmed i'll be happier. Apart from that i'm loving my lingual brace so far YAY!!!! :D
It's all about adapting & once you've adapted it seems to be great!

2nd adjustment down YIPPPEEEE  :jump:

Only feels like yesterday I had my last one.

Didn't expect him to touch my lowers but he did :D Had my first wire change on my lowers & had them tightened even more. Wow my 1 twisted canine can't half feel the pressure. Loving it!!!

His also starting to move my top teeth back into my extraction gaps & his put something over the wire connecting them. Not sure what it is but it's like a plastic thing connected to the teeth either side of my extractions. Will have to post a piccie as I don't know what it's meant to do :?

See you mr ortho in 5 weeks 5 days & counting

I have a small dark hole / gap appearing on my uppers where my overlapping left lateral incisor is slowly moving.

It looks awful but at least there is movement wahoo :D

I defo fall into the group of people that say their teeth look worse before they get better. My teeth at the moment looked better before braces & that's saying something ha ha can't wait until they start to look pretty.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I forgot to mention what my ortho said about that bit of root that was left in my gum after my last lot of extractions. Well he said that hopefully the body would break it down as the teeth moved & get rid of it. He said not to worry about it for now & crack on with treatment otherwise it would hold me back & to review the situation nearer the time. I think he said a year  WOW a year .... hopefully my teeth will be looking HOT then ha ha

I imagine the root will have worked itself out before then, just like a sliver. How are things going otherwise?

Thanks for stopping by ... I get excited when people comment on my story hee hee  :D

I hope you're right. I really don't want my gum cut open. The ortho told me straight that it's not a nice procedure (not hard to imagine really). I can feel a tiny little sharp lump under the gum, sticking out from the side above the extraction gap that the root snapped. I'm not sure if that's the root trying to come out. I hope so. I don't know what it is if it's not that.
It's high up though and and feels like it's coming out sideways

Things are going fine thanks. Wished my teeth would move a little faster though but i'm impatient. It's going to be months before my teeth start to look straight and pretty though

How have you gotten on with your consultations etc? Have you made your mind up what your doing yet?
