ejgfuedgfwiudsk my teeth are seriously hurting today :-=
like.. i could cry right now they hurt that much! and panadol is doing nothing.
sorry to sound like a baby lol.. i just havent had much pain with my braces overall.

yesterday after the adjustment, it was my actual teeth hurting. but today, it is the gums and tooth roots hurting which hopefully means my teeth are on the move again to a straigher path!

3rd day since my previous adjustment..
teeth are still sore and sensitive :x
i woke up thismorning with a massive archwire indentation in my cheek, from where the gap is on the right hand side, gosh that hurt!
it ocassionaly does that and i have to put a massive lump of dental wax on the archwire where the gap is between two teeth/brackets.
sorry if that made no sense what-so-ever!

these braces are driving me crazy lately, sometimes i have the urge to go and clip them off with a pair of pliers
but i keep telling myself that having braces will all be worth it in the end!!!

Wow....I have read your entire story. Seems as if you are having more trouble now than in the beginning. I am 37 and have wanted to fix my teeth forever. Funny as now I can afford it and am running into issues and MAJOR worry and anxiety so I have yet to go ahead with it. I have had all of my filling replaced last December....thinking I was helping my teeth out as they were old silver fillings. Ever since, one of the teeth that have the deeper filling is still.....yes still sort of a bother. I went to my dentist and he sent me to an endodontist and stated that a root canal could be in the future. The endodontist didn't see anything "alarming" but of course said..."yes, a root canal is a possibility. I have waited to see if things get better. One ortho say take care of it, and I was also told that if the pain isn't bad and the tooth doesn't look REALLY bad, then maybe wait. I am afraid either way. Wish I would have NEVER replaced the fillings. I would be many months into it by now. I also have some degenerative thing going on in my jaw, but after I demanded a further look at that, the claim is that everything would be fine with ortho. I wish I would have done this years and years ago, I am just afraid at my age, that the health or my mouth as a whole is not good. They say things look fine, but I worry.

Your photos look amazing. The question I have is about the missing molars on the bottom. Were they never there or did you have to have them extracted!?!?!?!?

I will keep reading your updates.

thankyou for reading my braces story mlk! my braces irritate me every now and then.. but i wouldnt say that i am having more trouble than before i had the braces on. I also had all silver fillings and had them all replaced, i am glad i got them replaced, the silver was quite ugly since i have a lot of fillings. thankyou, my teeth have improved a lot since having braces fitted! oh the missing molars  they were extracted as one needed a root canal which i could not go through with because of my anxiety, and my parents could also not afford it at the time. not sure why they removed the other molar to be honest.. that was removed when my wisdom teeth were removed.

i hope your situation with everything gets sorted out soon :)

had my adjustment on wednesday :D
all went well!! they checked the OPG xray and said no brackets need to be moved at this stage.
he also said that my teeth are moving so fast! i asked him if we are on track to get them off at the 24 month mark and he said i might be able to get them off at the end of next year! which would be like the 22nd month mark. :D
I also had a wire change on the top to a thicker wire which hurt like hell and has been giving me headaches.
but other than that all is well and my next appt isnt til january!
:D my teeth are looking amazing!

I read your whole story and it was encouraging to read that it’s possible to do it even though that you are terrified of getting braces (like me). If you read my journal “Can I do it” I’m sure you will very soon discover my anxiety toward this…. The pain, the unknown, not being able to take them off, the pressure..

How did you survive the bracing day?

Hi Ebony, thats good that I can at least encourage somebody!
I wasn't just anxious about braces, I had an anxiety disorder and was terrified of many things but it was a thing that I just had to push through. I have not read your journal as of yet, but promise to do so after I make this post
Brace day was such a long time ago now its quite hard to remember how i "survived it". Brace day wasnt that bad, apart from the cheek and tongue seperators which make your mouth a bit sore. I do remember my ortho telling me to bring in my ipod to listen to whilst being "braced", which really helped as I was just concentrating on the music and nothing else! Sorry that I cant really help with that bit, it seems like I got braces so long ago now even though it was just 9 months ago!
xx

Oh and to anybody else who still reads my braces journey, i hope to post some photos soon of how my teeth are straightening

arrrgh i know i havent updated for like a month, ive been so busy and sidetracked!
no news really, except whilst flossing christmas eve i noticed a bracket was off the tooth but still on the wire on one of my top left molars.
its not that annoying, it slides around sometimes and i can play with it with my tongue.
i think ill just wait til my next appt on the 18th to get it seen to.

i apologise for the lack of photos!

Had my adjustment today :)
Had the broken bracket put back on and upper arch wire changed to a thicker one.
All is well, except it's hurting a bit where he put the broken bracket back on because now the tooth feels all wobbly like all my teeth did when I first got braces.

Next appt is in SIX weeks! That's right SIX, not seven or eight! Must mean I'm getting somewhere with my treatment!!

So happy! For anyone reading, at what stage did you get elastics? I'm wondering when he'll give them to me. I kind of want them!

Looking good! I got my elastics about 8 months in, and I'm at 10 right now. My last adjustment was quite painful and then to wear the elastics...I felt like there were pounds of pressure on my face, but it's getting better now. I think I have a couple months left...at least I'm hoping. Keep us updated!

Dude, your teeth look perfect to me!!! BTW hang in there, looks like your hard work and patience is paying off.
I'm anxious and upset about my teeth too...but seriously we're the only ones that even notice. Everyone is in their own little world.
