Thanks everyone!! It's pretty awesome to see so much improvement so quickly!

PhDGuy: My bite isn't actually open, I am just holding it open for progress purposes so that you can see both my top and bottom teeth. I do still have a very significant overbite.

I am posting some pictures of my current smile, bite from the front, and a view of my overbite. Can't wait to get my bite fixed!!

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately! I am in a new position at work and no longer have the free time I used to have, and no Wifi at home. So today will be a big update! I have my second adjustment this afternoon at 4:15pm and will probably be getting TAD's! Kind of hoping I will get a powerchain as well so I can have some color for once. I will post on that later after my appointment.

Just a few updates...

1) I can now use the Plackers Ortho-picks I bought when I first got my braces! I was unable to use them for quite some time, but now that my teeth are much more straightened out, the orthopicks work great!!!

2) I can eat popcorn, chicken wings, chew gum, AND last night, for the first time since braces, I ate fresh grilled corn on the cob!!!! :-* YAYYY!!! I think as long as you eat slowly and carefully, you can pretty much eat anything! I do, however, still stay away from sticky foods/candy (caramel and starbursts, etc.)

So that's it for now! I will be posting again either tonight or sometime soon depending on what happens at my adjustment tonight. I have put together my 3-month pictures and there isn't really any noticeable change between month 2 and 3. There are a few nuances but I'm not sure if anyone else will be able to see them! Either way, I am still very happy with my progress and can't wait to get my bite fixed now!

Considering it has only been three months, your teeth look like they could get debraced in the next month or so! Major change! And don't worry about those small nuances...I think the ortho will correct and detail that out at the end. Make sure you point them out though.

Thanks, I wish that were the case!! I still have to fix my bite and close my extraction gaps, so I still have a long way to go  But I am okay with that! For now anyway lol I haven't been in them long so I'm not yet at the point where I just wish they were off.

**An update on my 2nd adjustment appointment**

I do not yet have TAD's. I'm kinda bummed cause I wanna get these gaps closed ASAP. But after that appointment, I am super happy not to have TAD's to deal with yet. I got: a .18 rectangular upper wire, and a .1825 rectangular lower wire, a 2-2 power chain on top and the assistant added bands to 3 and 4 on both sides so the color goes across and doesn't look weird, and last but not least I got class 2 (bottom back to top front) manatee rubber bands!!

I was excited to finally get some color goin on! But man... the rubber bands were killer at first. My jaw was so tight and tired! But now, I have found that the longer I have them in, the more stretched out they get, and the more comfortable they feel. And my jaw isn't feeling nearly as tired as the first few hours I had them in.

As far as the power chains are concerned, my upper top teeth are certainly sore!!! Thankfully I can't/don't bite with them (due to my overbite) so they won't get much added pressure with chewing. Will definitely be back to soft foods for a while though. I have been pretty lucky so far with not having to deal with much soreness. My first adjustment was 6 weeks out, and they only changed my bottom wire, so barely any new soreness. Then my last appointment was 8 weeks out. So I basically haven't had to deal with soreness for 11 weeks or so! Just my initial soreness from getting them on.

Here are some pics!

Just a quick update 1 week after my 2nd adjustment. The power chains don't bother me at all anymore. I actually really like them! Mostly just because I like having the color :) they really only bothered me for the first day or two. It didn't take long to get used to the added pressure.

As for the rubber bands, they are feeling fine now as well. These took a little longer to adjust to. For the first 3-5 days, everytime I put them in it was painful! But only for the first 30 seconds, then they would stop hurting. Thought that was kinda weird!

So today, I am not having any discomfort from the power chain/rubber bands. :jump: I am wearing the rubber bands full time and have been doing very good about always putting them back in after brushing/eating.

All is well! :)
