Thank you, KK and Meryaten. I never thought I would feel like this, this has been one of the best experiences of my life!! I know it's temporary, and I am SO happy to finally have visible results, but I just keep asking myself if all this pain and discomfort is worth it!
I know it will be... But it's hard to remember when you're feeling crappy.
It's also very hard not to feel guilty about the kids. They have always come first, and my ortho issues pale in comparison to theirs! Luckily they're only 8 and 10, and I'm going to get them both started in January.
Thank you again for the kind encouragement, it really does help!

Hey Nawners, Hope this finds you feeling better about yourself. I went thru the same basic phase of wanting to rip those puppies off but I know in my heart that I would have regretted that if I had done it. I put mine off for a while because off a bunch of things too. Just think of your kids having a orthodontic roll model in you . Cheers.

Thank you, TI. I am feeling better for the most part! The gap between my right lateral and central has closed, which would explain the pain!
Now the most annoying thing I have been experiencing is the inability to chew properly, and swollen gums. Not painful, just swollen. I plan on discussing this at my next adjustment, but I hope it's normal!

Thank you all once again for your empathy, sympathy and support! :)

Today marks three months since my upper arch was braced, and nearly one month since the lowers. I'm quite pleased with the progress so far, and can't wait for more!
My few days of feeling crummy are far past, thankfully. I'm sure it won't be the last stint of blues, but hopefully they won't be as bad!

Here are some pics taken today to compare!

Here are the rather large gaps between my left and right laterals and centrals. Hopefully I'll be getting those chained up and closed with the next adjustment!

The gaps weren't quite so large

And the day my upper arch was braced. So much progress!

*Hopefully the picture size doesn't stay this large. Once again, I forgot to resize before posting, so I had to go back and do that.

Thank you Linda, Meryaten and KK!
Glad the pictures resized, on my home PC they still looked way too big.
It's great when there is noticable change, although it's still very surreal! I was quite surprised too see how much the lower wire has straightened, as I haven't felt any pain on the lowers. I guess KK's mantra of "Gain without Pain" rings true in some cases!

Well, today marks four months since getting my uppers braced, and it was also my second adjustment!
It went well...
They gave me the same thin wire x 2 on top, and a thicker bottom wire, but I'm not sure of the exact specs.
I definitely feel the difference!
My bottom right molars are a bit sore, and as usual, so is my left upper lateral.
They took the power chain off my top incisors, so I just have regular ligs right now. My ortho wants to do some more tweaking and rotating before a full chain goes on the top.
I went back to my original pink and black ligs, because my niece is getting braced today (you all may have read some posts from someone called Avalon...) and she wanted pink and black and also wanted me to get the same. So, I thought 'what the heck', since they are my favorite colors..

I will be sure to post some pictures tonight when I get home!
