Hey Victor! Haven't stopped by your story in a while so I thought I'd check in on you. Your teeth are looking great and how fast your laterals came in line is amazing. I know what you mean about the asymmetries. Once all the major flaws of your teeth are fixed you really start noticing all the other little things. I honestly think you can't even notice them, but I'm sure to you they are a huge deal. I think the little grooves and such in my teeth are horribly noticeable, but I'm sure other people hardly take a second look. Anywho, I'm sure you'll get things all settled in the end. Here's to your continuing progress :D

P.S. As a note to the line in your location, it's formally referred to as Sleeping Beauty Castle, not Sleeping Beauty's Castle. They don't have it as possisive, just simply stating that it is the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Just a little Disney info for you  My grandpa worked at the park for 30 years and it's something he always pointed out to people  So you live close to Disneyland? I was just there tonight. I have an annual pass so I practically live there.

Hi Victor!

You are making great progress. I am *loving* your use of photoshop to tell your story. I'm a graphic designer, so I think I might steal your idea and start doing that myself. ;)

Welcome back PrincessMelody and Hello TWSS!!!

PrincessMelody: Hi there and welcome back! You'd think that someone who spends as much time as I do at DL (I live 1.1 miles away and like yourself I also have an annual pass) would know better than to mis-name the most iconic of disneyland landmarks; I'm so embarrassed! But anyway thank you for correcting me and for your encouragement re: asymmetries. :)

ThatsWhatSheSaid: Hello there! I'm glad you like my photoshop use, and it would be awesome to see what a fellow artist can do to spice up the story. I look forward to reading your story with some jazzed-up pictures. OH and since you're a fellow artist, give me some ideas of what lig colors to get next Tuesday... I was thinking black on the top and alternating orange/lime on the bottoms... Halloween With A Kick HAHAHA what do you think? :D

Welcome back, Joney!

#80 Post by victor36 »

Hello, Joney! I'm glad you love my graphics! And yes I am very thankful and fortunate that my teeth are moving so quickly; can you believe I've only had braces for 7 months?! And I'm sure my tenacious use of elastics is helping speed the process along as well.. Check back after next Tuesday because that's when I get Adjustment #4 :D:)

Take care,
~Victor

Wow Victor, what an amazing smile you have, I can't believe there is much more to do now?

I am having some reshaping done too, mostly to make my canine look like a lateral insisor but like you I can see a few bumps and ridges that I might get removed on other teeth. Like others have said I didn't notice yours until you pointed them out. I guess you are far more aware of these things on yourself then other people are :)

Good luck with adjustment number 4!

4th Adjustment Today (Will Post Pix Soon!)

#82 Post by victor36 »

Thanks for your kind compliments, choccyface (Sarah), I am quite please with my own progress. I was especially pleased when I got my adjustment today and Evelyn (one of the ortho assistants) let me see my teeth with no wires in, just the brackets. WOW!! My teeth are so straight and HUGE! hahaha

I guess Dr. F saw some movement on my upper 2nd molars that he didn't like (or maybe it was a preemptive strike) but he had Evelyn put brackets on them (I have molar bands on the 1st molars). No big deal. Just feels like I have food stuck back there; It will take some time to get used to them, just like when I first got braces.

Anyway, the adjustment was smooth and painless [albeit rather lengthy because of the brackets, I was there about 1 hour 15 minutes] but the fun part is the I originally wanted black ligs for the top and alternating orange/green on the bottoms, at the last minute I decided to go with an AUTUMN color scheme instead of halloween color scheme (a little less conspicuous since I have to meet clients face to face) so I got metallic gold ligs on the uppers and alternating orange and green on the bottoms, something like this:

I will post a pic soon, after I eat and brush because I'm STARVING!

Until next time,

~Victor

[p.s. this is one of the rare opportunities I had to use the word "albeit". It was quite satisfying, yet oddly unsettling. HAHA :D]

Thanks Karen! Here are some pix!

Thanks, Karen! I don't think I'll be having any problems with the new brackets, but it is always nice to get encouragement from my ArchWired friends!

Here are a couple pics, as promised:

Let's compare this to the LAST time I got gold ligs back in March:

So what do you think of the color choice? The bottom ligs aren't very visible when I smile regularly.

HAHAHA I didn't quite think of it like that, but now that you mention it, yes the tops are discreet and sophisticated, the bottoms are wild and unruly!! HAHAHA!! I am now ready for ANY Halloween party, whether it's quiet and reserved, or loud and outrageous!!

Victor-just wanted to get caught up on your story and your progress is amazing! I must admit I'm a little jealous of all that movement you've got going on in your upper laterals!!! You are going to have an amazing smile when all is said and done-heck-it already is amazing after such a short time in braces! CONGRATS!!!! :jump:

Victor

You are my "elastics inspiration". Whenever I get fed up with my elastics I think of how well they have worked for you and it helps keep me motivated. Your teeth are looking really good.

GracieG: Hello, and thank you for your encouraging, kind words! :D But please don't be too overly concerned about how my teeth move relative to yours... Everyone's teeth move at their own pace. My (relatively) fast movement has actually got me concerned because I fear that my teeth will move out of alignment just as quickly, but hopefully the retainers will do their intended job. Your teeth are well on their way to becoming quite dazzling, and WOW are your teeth amazingly WHITE! It should be illegal for teeth to look that white and that AMAZING! :P

joney: Thank you as well for your kind words! It's so nice and refreshing to hear things like that after a lifetime of feeling self-conscious about my hide-and-go-seek laterals. My teeth actually feel "normal" now, and my self-esteem got a healthy boost as well. I'm glad that my faithful use of elastics can inspire you to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

nerdgirl: Thank YOU for your nice encouraging words as well! WOW I'm feeling a little overwhelmed from everyone's good vibes and lovely encouragement; if you're familiar at all with "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne and The Law Of Attraction, then you'll know what i mean when I say that your uplifting compliments have come just at the right time, and are doing a world of good! Thank you! And I hope to see some colorful lig choices when you get your adjustment!

Thanks, everyone!

Hey Victor, thanks so much for the compliments, your teeth look so good, I cannot believe your progress with the laterals, god I dunno how you did 2 springs, I could barely handle one, but the results say it all huh. Also thanks for the white teeth compliment, I dunno what your so jealous about, your are just as white. Again everything looks great, thanks again, ttyl.
