then go to 'User COntrol Panel', select profile (left side) and then under profile, select signature, then you select 'Code' at the top of that box, paste your BBCode in, under the text box, check that the BBCode is on! THEN DONE :)
I think the important thing is to select 'Code' and not to paste the BBCode straight in! Hope that helps :) oh and then when you type/create a new post, under the text box, tick 'attach a signature' (should already be ticked, but check)

So BiP--How do you get the smileys on your text? I don't have 'disable smileys' marked so that's not it. All I get are symbols and letters..

Thanks again for the ticker help!!!

hehe no worries!! :) The similies should come automatically...if it doesn't work, you will just have to press each smiilie on the left side of the text box individually :)

I have officially lost count on the number of days I have been braces - a good sign perhaps?? I don't really know. So whilst I am busy sitting my mid-year exams, my two front teeth that have a 5mm (yes that was in my dental records) have been experiencing a lot of pressure and it has now become hard to bite down in the front. My bottom row of teeth with overcrowding of 2mm are developing quite nicely, with at least 3 gaps, one big one between one incisor and one canine..surprisingly most of the gaps developing are on the left side of the teeth. mhm probably the midline is shifted too far to the right?? I don't know, I am just guessing.

Regardless, I am quite pleased with my progress up to now. It has been nearly a week since my last adjustment last Thursday...so 3 weeks and 1.5 days till my next one, which is when I say good-bye to my 'lovely flexible lightwires' (ortho's words, not mine.)

Wow, you will have had a ton of appts. before my 1st one after braces!! I'm jealous--well I don't know about the next wire...I'm getting a new wire at my July appts, but not the stainless steel until around Christmas...

I can't wait until I really lose track of how long I have been in braces--I think I will feel like I am really on my way then...

Hey klobird! Ah the stainless...those stupid thick ones - I am getting those next time, I think, I am dreading them though. haha yep I sure do have a lot of appointments. My ortho said the first and second wires are 'light' and that makes the teeth loosen and the bone structures to become 'foam-like'...hahah whatever that means :P Have fun at your first adjustment session though!!

Some have come loose....it was a weird feeling at the start, but I think I am getting used to the constant clicking of the teeth when I poke my tongue around...You ortho might be wanting to adjust your bite first?? I don't know, mine said I will be getting elastics in around 4-5 months' time!

Just the usual achy sorta mild pain these days, I am used to it so that is good. Today, I was cleaning my teeth and I realised that the 3rd to last (pre?) molar has turned around. Instead of the bracket virtually hitting the metal band, it has turned around slightly, so that is is nearly in the middle again. Once this is, then that bracket would need to be replaced (according to ortho) to put it into a better position for other movements.

I am having a hate-love relationship with my gapped bottom row of teeth - strangely for the last 16 years in my life, I seriously did not consider for one minute that this would become gapped! I have always had them perfect till the past 3 years when my molars came in and the bottom teeth became overcrowded! Ah if only...

Nevertheless, I have not seen any change in the gap in my front teeth - I presume it is because gaps closing must be much less visible than crowded teeth creating gaps :P

Now I have a lisp on some days and not others. On my good days, I can chew fine and talk fine. But on my bad braces days, I seem to created this random short-ish whistle sound when I talk -> lisp alert. Oh and on days like this, I would wake up to realise that my bottom lip has become stuck to the bottom braces due to extreme dry mouth for some reason -> formation of ulcers and potential lisp for a day.

Nearly 1.5 weeks have past since my first adjustment and I am feeling quite motivated...until I begin to floss :P

Hey BiP,

I just blogged yesterday about my new lishp!! Really weird. I was talking on the phone to a patient, and couldn't make myself stop talking weird. What a strange feeling.

What really is getting me is just how long 2 years is....2 Christmases, 2 birthdays, etc etc...wow...I'm sure glad it comes with benefits!!

Hey klobird!
I know! I can't wait to get this thing off! I think the lisp might be due to change in bite??? I don't know...ahh everyday in braces is different, everyday something new comes up unexpected!

Hey BiP---I still haven't had any loose teeth--the ortho told me I would...I still have really itchy gums and teeth though...
My braces don't even bug me so much anymore--but the d#mn elastics always remind me that I have braces. And then I remember--they're doing an awful lot to help me!

I don't know how to describe elastics--they really aren't bad at all--just an annoying pain in the #ss. And ya, I will die if I end up having to wear them all over the place on my front teeth!! Like those ones that go from one side on the bottom to the other side on the top--I've seen it online. I mean why don't you just get your mouth wired shut for pete's sake! How are you supposed to eat and talk with something like that?!! Not to mention just looking ridiculous. I think I would just go home from the ortho's and throw them in the garbage!!! Really!
