Hey Gilly!

Glad you've gotten used to your back brackets! I can't wait to see you in pink!! I'm thinking of pink powerchains for mine next time...although your experience with them turning orange has me a little worried!

Jaw pain isn't fun! That was my main reason for getting braces in the first place :/ But once your bite gets sorted out you will feel so much better! And the elastics seem to work pretty fast! (well they did with me). I've found that since my bite has improved I can also open my mouth more because the overworked jaw muscles aren't clamping my mouth shut!! I suppose that our bites are going to be continually changing as everything moves around so hopefully your pain will go away again soon!

Looking forward to your pictures! And 7 months - you must be over the moon!! I've just clocked up 5 months and it seems to have flown by! I thought that it was going to be more of a struggle/drawn out process but I often forget that I have my braces on!

Hey guys,

It’s been a while since I last posted so I thought I’d throw up some pictures. I can’t really remember all that has transpired in the past few months so I will just let the pictures do the talking.

I did have my last adjustment this past Wednesday February 13th and took a small step back  Doc asked me how everything was going with my braces and things have been great with the exception of my first bicuspid on the bottom right. I noticed it had started to rotate in the wrong direction. He agreed this was an issue and had to put me back in the starter wire on the bottom! Yeah…it sucks… He then proceeded to say that he was planning on starting me on elastics but could not because of the rotated premolar. BOO-URNS! I’m just praying that the tooth finds its rightful position by my next adjustment (March 17th) so that I can take my next step in this journey.

Pic time!

My most recent colours are BRIGHT PINK, thought it was fitting for Valentine's Day aka my birthday (I'm 24!). I will take some pics tonight and try to get them up by tomorrow.

I hope you are all well

I have no idea what adjustment I'm on now lol. I had one about a month ago and I'm due for another in about a week.

At my last appointment I got my first powerchain on my lower teeth so I'm all chained in at the moment. The left side of my mouth looks great but the right side is quite wonky at the moment. It's like the teeth on the right are sitting right on top of each other almost like it's forming a crosssbite  I suspect it's due to the lone extraction I had on the upper right side. I pray to God it's easily corrected. I will definitely be asking Doc about this at my next adjustment.

Otherwise things with the braces are going wonderfully. I have no idea when I will be out of them but I'm in no rush. I am currently sporting grey uppers and purple lowers. Will upload pictures as soon as I take some.

Hope you're well!

Hey guys,

So I think I just had my 10th adjustment... Might even be the 11th but I digress... Anywhoos, I started elastics today! Pretty exciting because its another step toward the goal in the crazy process.

They are not bad at all. I believe I have the class III configuration but I could be wrong.. They go from my second molar on the top to my canine on the bottom on both sides. In the pack the elastics looked ridiculously small but they're not uncomfortably tight, and I can speak and eat without any problems.

I have a gray chain on the top and navy on the bottom. The teeth are really coming along, it's quite exciting. Next month is my 1 year brace-a-versary! I cannot believe how the time has flown by!

I will post pictures as soon as I find my camera charger.. I haven't a clue where it is :s

Take care!
-Gabrielle

Yay you're in elastics!!! Mine were the opposite configuration to yours! I got so addicted to mine that when he said "stop wearing them" I had to retrain myself NOT to put them on! And felt naked when I had to brush my teeth without taking them off first lol! Glad they're not causing you too much of a problem though!

Sounds like everything is going fabulously for you Gilly :) Happy Brace-a-versary for next month!!!!! Looking forward to your pics!

Thought I'd post some pictures since I haven't in a while. My treatment is going really well. The extraction gap is almost completely closed so I'm really excited about that. I haven't noticed a change in my bite with respect to the elastics, I guess they're working slowly...I hope.

Gilly,
Your teeth are really on the move and are looking GREAT!! I can't wait until my top arch start forming that straight alignment. My ortho told me they will start on that after they push my lower arch backwards.

ACKLAY! Hey, it's been a while :-1 Thanks for stopping by to check up on me. Things with the metal are going great. I checked your thread and see that you haven't updated on your own story... how are things going? I bet your teeth are looking great:) Please post an update when you get a chance

Thanks Chaotic

I had an adjustment a couple of weeks ago and I am done with powerchains on the top (for now). They seem to have done such a good job that I now have an edge-to-edge bite so the doc wants to let the elastics close up the remaining (teeny, weeny) space from my extraction. I went with silver uppers and got a baby blue powerchain on my lowers. I will post pictures as soon as things settle down at the new job.

I hope you are all doing great!

Hey Gilly :-*

How is the new job going??

Has your ortho started talking about you getting your braces off yet or giving you any hints on timing?? They're looking pretty much done and awesome!! How is your bite going with the elastics now??

Have a great week!
