hapy helens invisilign so far....

#1 Post by happyhelen »

Hi All, Thought i would share with you my story so far as i have took a lot from reading all yours........

Bit about me; am 24, live in the sunny north of England, and have always wanted nice teeth!!

Had lovely teeth as a child, they got a bit crowded as i got older. I went to university and they were moving quite a bit, crowding in at the front. I have always had a thing about teeth, and knew that once i had the cash i would get them done - either braced or veneered. :D

Anyway, decided when i finally started to earn some cash that i wanted them done. Medical school convinced me that your own teeth are far better than veneers. So i eent to various dentists and heard about invisilign. I know thats what i wanted as i didnt want the conventional metal / train track things i used to tease my brother about as kids.

As i work in the NHS as a doctor i started asking all the reps, all the dental students / orthos ect what the score was with invisilign. Although the treatment is still quite new i read some journals on it, read any research i could get my hands on and decided to go for it. I went with a dentist i have known both proffessionally and privately and got a quote for £3800 english pounds. I was told i would need 13 uppers and 20 lowers as my teeth are relatively good. Each one to be worn for 2 weeks each.

I am now on my 6th set of aligners, and only one hiccup so far. (thouch wood) I snapped week 3 as i was too heavy handed, drank so much coke at work during my night shift (yes i know your not supposed to, i needed a coke fix tho), that when i tried to take them out it tore ever so slightly. My dentist just told me to jump to the next one and wear it for a week longer, so i did and all is well.

So far i can really see the difference in my upers in particular. My lower movement will be slower and i have had one tooth slenderized, but there is a definate change. No one notices them, not even lovely drunk patients who would really tell you if they thought something was wierd with your teeth. And im getting alot of comments like "have you bleached your teeth? they look really nice , what have you had done?" :D

so thats my story so far. I will keep you all updated and im going to attempt to put some photies up, im just terrible with the computer!!

Thanks for all your support, keep posting
xxxxxxx  :D xxxxxxx
