Yes i no, i no... im a little late getting here, but ive been on this website since before my brace day.. im now 15 1/2 months or 16 months into treatment. :) :) im missing my top right second molar and the dentist who pulled it said more ortho would use my wisdom tooth to take its place ( by the way my wisdom tooth probably wont come in for another year or two) but then my ortho hasnt said one thing to me about that so im still not sure.. i need to ask soon. my original estimate was 18 months . ok well here are some pictures of the very beginning of treatment and then pictures of my teeth right now... i had an expander a couple of months before my braces went on so my jaw got a lot wider on top... thank god! i had such a small smile for my big face lol :D

Hey I think both your teeth and your bite look wonderful! I wouldn't worry too much about looking like a kid in your driver's permit picture - don't be in rush to look/act older! ENjoy being 14 :P !

Good luck,
Joanna

The reason your ortho hasn't said anything about your second molar is because there is nothing he can do right now anyway, since your second molar is at the "end of the line". If your wisdom teeth come in nicely I think you will be fine. I doubt very seriously this will delay your treatment! :-)

Some orthos don't even band the 2nd molars......

I am surprised you had to wear an exander your before pictures look like your arch was pretty nice!

Good luck and wear that retainer as recommended!

jcdamon3- my ortho is actually starting to band the rest of my second molars... next adjustment he is starting with my bottom left one.. and i think the dentist said tht i needed to have the wisdom tooth there because my teeth will start to space out back there if i dont and my bite will start to worsen over time...

also i needed the expander because i had some trouble breathing through my nose... also my mouth was extremely small compared to how big my head was lol....

jcdamon3-thanks for the compliment... i just dont wanna be stuck with tht picture for however long i have my permit... trust me i dont wanna grow up and then have to deal with responsibilty... im soooo lazy :) high school gives me enough responsibilities :([/b]

OMG!! there are no words to explain how happy i am!! after 16 months im getting my braces off in 14 weeks which is only a month over my estimated time. i still have to have one more adjustment so they could pull the plug on it.. but im praying they dont! CHEERS to everyone who is getting their braces off and knows the feeling of when they tell you that you are... and to all you newbies... good luck and it was totally worth it... ya so i paused to go eat right about this point in writing the message... because well food is my favorite thing... and i broke my second molar bracket off and swallowed it so i have to go get another one as soon as possible... my mom was just to lazy to call today
OMG!!! im soooo pissed at myself... i just had to have tht cookie lol

ill post pics later, sorry i got some school stuff to do right now

ok guys little update.... ive been thinking it over for the last day and personally i dont think my teeth are fully straight. ive broken like 6 brackets off over the coarse of 16 months and well i dont know how happy they are with me... i think they might just be debanding me to get me off their hands because like everyone that goes to my ortho doesnt get their braces off for three years and my next-door neighbor has had them for almost three years and hers and my teeth were just as bad as each others in the beginning.. im just so confused!!! so whenever i go in to get tht bracket replaced that i swallowed i will ask if i can have them on longer to straighten out my bottoms a little more... and also im gonna ask about my missing second molar because if they wont put braces back on to fix it later then i will just keep them on until my wisdom tooth comes in and they can move the wisdom tooth into my second molars place.

im soooo mad i didnt say anything yesterday when i was there!!! my mind just went blank when they said i could get my braces off and all i could say was YES!! but now that i think of it.. i dont know if i will ever get a chance to correct some of these things that arent fully corrected right now... IM SO CONFUSED ON WHAT I SHOULD DO!?!?!? GIVE ME YOUR OPINION!!

ill try to post pictures soon to help you get an idea of where im coming from......

I think your bottoms look great.. but I think they'd look awesome with a bit of tooth re-shaping all over.

ok so today i had an "emergency appt." not so emergency if it takes 3 1/2 weeks to schedule. i went in there to get a replacement for the second molar bracket that i swallowed but last week or the week before i noticed that my top front bracket had come loose also so at todays appt. they only fixed my top front one and didnt do anything to my second molar which i thought was weird because im getting my braces off january 18 and if they didnt do it today i dont see how its going to be pulled into where it needs to be by then. well anyways i got new colors so ill post pictures. i really like them this time. lime green on top and blue on the bottom.

By the way if you see the last pictures that i posted you will see the nice perfectly white powerchains... well they DONT stay perfect for long. i figured since im getting them off soon im might as well go for so obnoxious colors. :D

ok i finally took some pictures last night...sorry it took so long. when i got these colors the blue was a little brighter but oh well i still like them a lot! :D

ok so after i took these picture... im pretty sure it is just me but i think that the top right central is a little crooked and the tooth next to it is higher up compared to how the teeth line up on the other side.

also look at how my bite is on the right side. i think it has defiantly gotten worse even though i have worn the elastics (ok maybe i didnt wear them every second of everyday but i wore them) could it have something to do with me grinding my teeth so much in the last month and having my jaw feel uncomfortable?

well here are the pictures... enjoy and please respond and give me your opinion. :D

thanks for the compliment linda21 !

yes i do have baccal tubes on all of my molar bands. i actually had one on my bracket for my second molar but its gone because i swallowed it and when i went to go get two brackets fixed including that one they chose not to replace it at that time.

i am going to address the problem of my teeth not touching on my right side at the next adjustment. my bite just doesnt feel comfortable to me. i feel like im forcing myself into an uncortable position :( ....

thanks for taking the time to reply
