When I told my co-workers I was getting braces the reaction i got was "Why? your teeth are so straight!"
I have fairly straight teeth and a lot of bite problems, (open bite, a mid-line misalignment, cross bite and a slight overjet) due to my nasty habit of nail biting. My jaw had been killing me on and off for about two years..I was going to one denist who was always pushing veneers on me..I didn't fall for it cuz I knew it wouldn't help my jaw pain, so i moved and went to my cleaning at dr. g's he told me i have perfect teeth (no fillings or cavities ever) but i did have a lot of bite problems and the only way to fix that was braces.

I was refered to Dr. K and stated my journey...(I didn't feel the need to shop around cuz i felt very comfortable with Dr. K ) he said 24 months..and we started

On Sept 25th I got the pain in the behind spacers



On Oct 2nd I got my braces



Inspire Ice top and bottom...it was strange getting used to how big my mouth felt!
I've had them almost a month now...getting used to that strange pressure...my bite is really wonky right now and I'm looking forward to when it gets normal...





These we're taken Oct 23rd 21 days into treatment...my teeth look yellow in the picture cuz of the light...

Well I wanted to update and add some new pics...

not too much going on I had my 1st adjustment..and the ortho was telling me my teeth we're about to start really moving and to be prepare for some pain! But it's been a week and no real pain..just a few tender teeth but nothing like it was when i first got braced! The only real annoying thing has been cuts in my mouth...that never happened the first month but i remembered karens advice about salt water rinses and it healed overnight..I was amazed!!

Those colours are so cute! They look really good.
The salt water rinses really are good aren't they? I think it's so amazing how fast the mouth heals.

Things have been busy with wedding planning ...so I've been lax about updating this..in dec i got a new bottom wire and a power chain on my last two teeth on my left side to roate one of my teeth..I also got a an elastic which was annoying at first but I've become such a pro at it I can put it on in the dark



I also choose green and blue ligs which were my fav of all the colors I've had..







In Jan I got another new wire on my bottom...and I'm not sure what the wire was but it was soooo tight ... I also got rid of the mini powerchain and it was replaced with a big power chain..across my lowers...I laughed with the dr and told him my bottoms have had 3 different wires..my tops are feeling a little left out...hehe

I also have to keep wearing the elastic but even the dr said my cross bite is almost gone so hooray!!

I went with dark and light purple on top and a purple powerchain on bottom..they feel a little...tame compared to my last colors..can't wait for next month I'm doing pink and black

This is a double month update, to answer the questions yes the gaps closed...and yes i have a spiffy camera

This is Feb, I had a new wire on top and bottom, class 2 on both sides of my mouth
