My braces story...

I am a 28 year old female who decided a couple of months ago that it was time for me to address my crooked front tooth. This was my primary concern when I entered into the orthodontist's office on May 13 for a consultation. I was quite surprised when the orthodontist told me that I had a number of problems that would require braces for two years and might require extractions of my second bicuspids. I went home wondering if I was crazy to consider braces, especially if I were to give up four healthy teeth!
I spoke to a number of people (including a second orthodontist) and quickly realized that it is sometimes necessary to remove teeth to be able to move the others into a proper bite. When I told my parents my mom was not surprised. She told me that this is a common problem in my family and that a number of my family members have required extractions to perfect their bite.
I then decided that I would go ahead with the braces and went for my reccords appointment on May 21.
Here are my before braces pictures...

They don't look too bad in these pictures but here is where my problem lies...

My teeth are pushed out and forward, hence my crooked front tooth.
Anyways...my brace day is this Monday (June 9). I am getting ceramic uppers and metal lowers (I'm going to ask for pink ligs on my bottoms!). I have stopped worrying about all of it and am now excited to start my journey to a beautiful smile!
My boyfriend has been very supportive of my decision and is coming with me on Monday. He's going to sit in the "parent's chair" and watch them put the braces on!
I'll post pics of my new braces next week!
Thanks for reading my story!
